International break - March

Pre Match - Newcastle (Anfield South) - Sun 16:30

Time to move on from PSG, we have a trophy to win.

Worried about the accumulation of minutes in the legs for many but i just don’t see Slot rotating. I’m expecting same as yesterday except Quansah for Trent if he’s hurt.

Robbo and Gravy will be knackered. Diaz and Szobo ran themselves into the ground. It’s a huge ask now.

I think Slot will be more likely to roll early subs than rotate though.

Gakpo looked like he wasn’t ready to play which would be a big loss again. He was really looking the player we need on the left up until that knock.

Jota shouldn’t be in the pitch. I’d give Darwin redemption for the pen, as he showed 5 times the desire and intent last night that Jota who looks mentally checked out.

PSG and we are out. Post match thread.

I’m not going to get hysterical about this. We fucking battered them. They looked like a French version of Crystal Palace hoping to catch us on the break.

Just like recent times we’ve been shite as a front 3. Unlike the first leg our forwards got a lot of the ball. Just like the first leg they did fuck all with it. This is where Gakpo’s injury has hit us. Over reliance on some players and forcing Jota back early.

I thought Mac was fabulous bar his brain fart late in the second half. Slobby was fantastic. Had they both stayed on we would’ve won that in extra time. Apart from Quansah, our subs were proper shit. No impact whatsoever other than missing pens.

I hope there’s nothing seriously wrong with Trent or Konate. I think we can win on Sunday without them as long as they refuse to join their national teams.

We’re gonna win the league!

MOTM PSG (H) 0-1 - Momo’s POTS awards

A reverse of the first leg. We battered them. Wrong penalty takers.

Pick your top 3.

Allison
Alexander Arnold (Quansah)
Konate (Endo)
Van Dijk
Robertson
Gravenberch
Szoboszlai (Elliott)
Mac Allister (Jones)
Salah
Jota (Nunez)
Diaz (Gakpo)

Slot, does he deserve a new contract?

Given what he has achieved, does he deserve an improved contract? I think he is on €8m a year. If yes, what you take it to?

F1 2025

Really exciting season coming up. I haven’t looked forward to one as much as this for a long time.

Feels like Ferrari & McLaren will be the cars to beat, which will be fun with all 4 drivers capable of winning and who knows if there will be any team orders in Team Papaya, at least at the start?!

So many rookies joining. Antonelli & Lawson in quick cats will be good to see possible future contenders mixing it.

A new British driver on the grid in Oliver Bearman.

George Russell coming in as a lead driver, will his ego fit in his helmet?

Then always Max, he didn’t have a great testing so really interesting to see how RB starts the season. I’m predicting they’ll be 3rd / 4th after a few races then it’s a question of which teams will keep investing into this car versus next year.

Who’s going to be watching?

Superb Sunday coming up next week: f1 in the morning, cup final in the afternoon.

Pre Match - PSG (H) - Tues 20:00

Second final of the week. This needs our players starting the game switched on and with intensity to take it to them.

I’d like to see Elliot start given the boost he’s given past two games but it doesn’t feel likely. No Gakpo is painful too. Let’s hope he’s ok the bench.

I actually think I’d like to see Slot try his two AM tactic again but with Elliot instead of Jones.

Anyway if we’re predicting line up it’s surely going to be

Alisson

Trent
Konate
Virgil
Robbo

Gravy
Macca
Szobo

Salah
Nunez
Diaz

We need to get the upper hand early on.

A slow start to really piss momo right off. Subs made a huge difference. Especially when you make 6 of them.

Konate
Van dijk
Tsimikas (Robertson)
Gravenberch (Endo)
Szoboszlai (Elliott)
