Alright, midweek special...

Forest at 11/5 is good value. Sheff Utd are shit at home against decent sides, and Forest are in great form. That's one.
Bordeaux 21/10. Certs.
And Rotherham at 6/4 away to Luton is sound.

It's on like donkey kong.

Right here's hoping the bookmaking gods look more favourably upon me.

Athletico Madrid @ 8/11
Boro @ 7/10
Wolfsburg @ 11/10

Haven't spotted too much so far but like the look of Bristol City at Leicester - I could lay the Leicester victory at Evens (Betfair).

I do like City and made it a bet but just couldn't do it cos of their away record. Hope i'm proved wrong if you have done it.

Cheers FOAR, I didn't go crazy, just a small bet - I would have done more if Carey had been back in tonight as rumoured but he's not.

I've gone big against Ryan's selection of Forest, I don't fancy them at Sheff Utd - I like the Ched Evans/ Ward combination for United and they look stronger all over the pitch. Layed Forest at 2/1.

We both lucked out then.

Not as short as the odds of you coming into this thread and festering it with your fucking gloom were anyway.

I lucked-in Ryan, I bet against Forest winning and even though a 0-0 is hardly convincing and odds of 1/2 (I layed at 2/1 which means I offered Forest 2/1 odds on Betfair) are quite skinny, I'll take it. The Bristol City win was impressive, they dropped the managers son (Lee Johnson son of Gary Johnson) and he is their Lucas Leiva so I thought their midfield might perform a bit better than recently.

Shockingly I am considering backing Liverpool tonight to win for the first tiem this season! If he starts Aquilani in place of Lucas and puts someone decent beside him I can see a comfortable victory. Normally it's daft to bet on a game of little significance but I think Aquilani presence will inspire the rest of the team.

Cant believe I backed Utd, yet still didnt win any wedge.

£15 Treble of Swansea, the Mancs and Boro.

Gutted.

Unlucky Pete, Boro and WBA must have fucked up a lot of bets yesterday.

There aint anyone getting rich in this thread.

My three teams were all stuffed
[/quote]

Not exactly getting rich but out of 4 bets I've had on this thread I've had one loser at 5/6 and 3 winners at 6/5, Evens and 1/2.

Too true Niall.

What I will say though, with a fair degree of modesty, is that this thread's a fucking 24 carat belter, has completely revived this ailing forum, and brought our community much closer.

Good on me really.

And again tonight.

£15 treble - Liverpool (evs), Newcastle (8/11), Barca (4/6)

Had enough.

I think I'll back Arsenal to win by 2 or more this weekend.

How could you allow yourself back Arsenal Pat?. It's disgraceful. You will be subconsciously happy if we lose then. It's blood money.

Right, weekend time again folks. What are we looking at?

Let's try and get one fucking winner out of all of us big massive losers...

I can't access betting sites in work so I've no idea what odds are available for anything right now (maybe somebody could have a quick look for me), but at a quick glance of the fixtures I like the look of...

Newcastle
Bristol City
Huddersfield (Gillingham haven't won a game away from home this season)
And Brentford is a tempter given Leeds going to ET in midweek.

I see it as consolation money. If we have to lose I may as well make a profit. I often back against us in a game I really want us to win.

Ryan, could you define "fair degree of modesty" please?

Bleedin' tough to spot anything decent this weekend so far although i haven't checked the team news yet. I know Darlington are pathetic but I've seen Torquay twice this season and I can't accept anyone being 5/1 against them so will probably invest a small sum on Darlo.

Yeovil are improving and might be an option against Norwich.

I'm struggling as well this weekend. I'd make it a small sum Pesam, I hated Torquay a month or so ago and opposed them most weeks but they have got in a couple of decent loans and Darlo's DF without Foster is very poor.

Having said that I am taking on the 2nd bottom team. Grimsby have put in ok performances the last two weeks and I have Shrews as one of the overrated teams in the division. Potential egg on face one when they get destroyed but am with Grimsby getting 0.75 of a goal start.

Sticking with Che'd (giving up 0.75) despite the Crewe game as they are playing the inept Cheltenham lot.

Everyone hates a statto but historically goals dry up a bit in Dec and Jan before picking up again.

Few under 2.5 goals, games at Macc, Dag, Reading and Coventry.
