On Lucas:

"With Alonso what mattered was off the ball movement and the team's on the ball movement was so much more static. With Lucas immediately replacing Alonso, he passes the ball shortly and tersely and expects the ball back in return after moving forward a little and he keeps the play going little by little upfield with every pass. For Alonso's one pass we had numerous passes from Lucas. Now with Lucas, those who weren't able to adjust to Alonso's absence and also the demand of better on the ball movement were found out. That was a shift in philosophy not many could adjust to".

Just read this on another thread, and I quite wanted to find the author and punch him in the fucking face repeatedly.

It's one of the most irritatingly shit, wrong and stupid things I've ever seen written about a Liverpool player.

RAWK is mental. You'd swear it was some sort of 'Shutter Island esque' experimental institute. Clowns.

It take's Lucas ten passes to gradually move up the pitch whereas Alonso could do it one pass!
 
Comparing Lucas to Alonso in anyway makes me want to eat my own hand.

Alonso was great for us, especially in that last season. I just don't see how we're gonna get that balance right with the two deeper CM's with the players we have or the ones that are being mentioned without playing Gerrard in the deeper role, and personally I'd rather see him playing in the central role of the offensive three in behind Torres. The Torres-Gerrard partnership has been the best thing about us in the last couple of seasons.
 
So is that person seriously trying to make some kind of case that the other players are somehow not good enough to play with Lucas?

That does have an element of truth to it, but certainly not in a good way!

It's funny that I have never visited RAWK but I keep getting their every minute update right here on SCM!

Who are more idiotic:
a) retards saying something stupid
b) someone keep "monitoring" what the retards said and "reporting" back.
 
It's just bizare. He is trying to exonerate all blame from Lucas and place it on the feet of his team mates, who can't adjust to his style of play.

Did anyone pull him up on this on the site?

No, it quite literally is everyone. I started reading RAWK after the old Koptalk forums were shut (and I wasn't aware that this one had been started) and fuck, it was truly painful. I think I'd registered as a user meaning to post on there sometime but I realised anyone with the slightest voice of dissent against the popular opinion on there was either banned or slated by a fucking mob into submission.

It's truly unreal. A quick look now will tell you that a lot of them are livid at the fact Insua is being sold. But that's just scratching the surface of the madness on there. The best ever was when some fucking clown said that Lucas was better than Vieira, Lampard and Gerrard were at his age.
 
Not so. There are a bunch of posters who challenge the mentalist orthodoxy there, but they do tend to get drowned out, told they aren't real fans, and that they can't judge any players because they don't go the game every week. The same goes for those that challenged the whole C*cil is trying to sell all our best players line, and that he got rid of Rafa to facilitate the fire-sale. When some posters indicated that Armageddon had not happened, the mods had the last word (they said it was true, but things change) and promptly locked the thread.
