Has there been a bigger mistake our board has ever made? A Liverpool fan and he slipped through our fingers

In answer to your question, we let Ronaldo slip through our fingers.

But aside from that, I'm sure there are hundreds of players we had a chance to sign but didn't. Same for most biggish teams.

Yeah, the Ronaldo one is probably the biggest fuck up cos it's easy to trace back thanks to the press, I'm fairly sure there's been many equally damaging ones for loads of top clubs though.

Hodgson was a pretty big mistake. Not just his tactics, he wrought further destruction with his shite signings.

Big loss. Fantastic talent and I cant believe we fucked that up. Gerrard is a rolemodel and Robinson was their manager. Clusterfuck to not get that over the line.

We nearly lost the King. He came down for a trial when he was 15 but got homesick and we couldn't persuade him to stay at that time.

He's brilliant and absolutely anyone that saw him for Mk Dons just knew by looking at him he was streets ahead of everyone in the division.
It's a terrible shame.

By the by who's decision was it that he wasn't worth the wages?
Should be hung and quartered whoever it was.

Was aguero actually ever close to happening during rafas reign ?

I don't remember hearing anything about us signing him. It's largely fueled by that interview he gave stating that he likes Liverpool and always chooses us on FIFA or some shit.

He went to A.Madrid for 17M shortly after. We signed Lucas and Babel for the same money.

I remembered when Sterling burst onto the scene. Everyone was raving about him. Soon after, they were turning against him.

Dele'll probably face the same fate.

.

No it's not. It's fuelled by the fact that it WAS widely reported we were signing him, and by the fact that both Robinson and Rodgers have since said it was as close to a done deal as possible without it happening.

You didn't read the whole post, did you?

That's a tall tale from the tabloids which suits a certain narrative about wages. I suspect somebody at the club, in position to make a decision, concluded the priority was not an 18-year old but immediate results, since we had loads of them in the Academy.

What does the term "get shirty" actually mean?

Like it's origins and shit

Why don't we assume that the etymology of "getting shirty" is something to do with having to wear more formal attire when presiding over an important function or decision like in some muddy village in which the farmers are arguing over who needs to fix the fences and the elder farmer puts on his best formal shirt and decides who needs to fix the fence.

We didn't had the money to sign both Kuyt and Aguero. Our board didn't want to pay very high wages to a young talent like Aguero so we signed Kuyt instead.
