Raúl Garcia - Athletic Bilbao (reportedly €10 million)
Article: Spanish football club Athletic Club Bilbao on Monday made one of the surprise signings of the summer with the capture of Atletico Madrid's attacking midfielder Raul Garcia on a four-year contract.

Athletic will pay around 10 million euros ($11.2 million) for the Pamplona born player, who began his career with Osasuna and who fits into their transfer policy of signing only players born or raised as footballers in either the Basque region or Navarra, reports Xinhua.

The 29-year-old is physical and aggressive and also has an eye for goals with 66 goals scored in the La Liga, including 19 in the last three seasons with Atletico (two of which came in his last two appearances in Bilbao). Athletic hope he will add extra bite to a side that in recent seasons has relied too much on the goals of 34-year-old Aritz Aduriz.

The Spanish international leaves Atletico after winning seven different titles, but knowing that the arrival of players such as Jackson Martinez, Luciano Vietto, Yannick Carrasco and the return of Oliver Torres, would limit his first team opportunities.

With the European Championships around the corner next summer, Garcia will hope that regular first team football will improve his chances of convincing head coach Vicente del Bosque that he deserves a place in the Spain squad next summer in France.

He joins an Athletic Club which this season has already beaten FC Barcelona to win the Spanish Supercup and assured a place in the group stage of the Europa League, but paid for those efforts with two defeats in their opening league matches, the last of which was a 0-2 setback against SD Eibar on Sunday.

Julian Draxler - Wolfsburg (reportedly €36 million)
Article: Emotionally speaking, it was a hard decision for the Royal Blues. Financially, it takes Schalke 04 to another level – Julian Draxler has completed his transfer to VfL Wolfsburg. The Germany international has signed a five-year contract at the Lower Saxony club until 2020.

“There are two reasons for our decision to accept Wolfsburg’s offer: We will not be disclosing information about the transfer fee, but we can say that it is the biggest amount we’ve received for a player at Schalke. Moreover, we have complied with Julian’s desire to move to another club,” explains sporting director Horst Heldt.

At the end of last season, Julian came to me and expressly said that he wanted to leave the club. I told him that we would consider any offers that came in for him, but I also tried to convince him until the end to stay in light of the new sporting direction that we’re now taking,” says Heldt to describe the past months. “Julian acknowledges the positive developments that we’ve seen in recent months, but this did not change his stance. Instead he repeated his desire to leave.”

This meant that Schalke had to make a decision for the benefit of the club. “It was clear for us that we would only agree to any transfer if the offer matched our valuation,” continued Heldt.

“Julian Draxler has been essential in Schalke’s sporting success in recent years, including a DFB Cup title and three years in the Champions League. In that time, he always identified himself with our aims,” emphasised Heldt. “We would like to thank him for his services and wish him all the best for his sporting future.”

Julian Draxler joined the Knappenschmiede academy in 2001. He made his first-team debut as a 17-year-old on 15th January 2011 in a Bundesliga game against Hamburger SV. Ten days later, he netted the decisive goal late on in a 3-2 DFB Cup quarterfinal win over 1. FC Nürnberg. It was a milestone on the way to Schalke lifting the trophy, with Draxler also opening the scoring in the 5-0 final victory against MSV Duisburg.

The midfielder made a total of 119 appearances in the Bundesliga for Schalke (18 goals), also featuring in twelve DFB Cup games (5 goals) and 38 European matches (7 goals). Draxler was handed his senior debut for Germany on 26th May 2012 against Switzerland. He has since won a further 14 caps (1 goal) at international level. His biggest success came in summer 2014, when he was part of the team that won the World Cup in Brazil.

    Jo-Cheol Koo - Augsburg
    [IMG]
Article: South Korean football player Koo Ja-cheol has switched clubs in the Bundesliga and his national team status for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers is in limbo, officials said Monday.

The Korea Football Association (KFA) said Koo flew back to Germany on Sunday, only hours after he'd arrived to join the national team, so that he could complete the transfer from Mainz 05 to FC Augsburg.

Koo will miss Thursday's World Cup qualifying match against Laos. The KFA said Koo could rejoin the team for the second qualifier, against Lebanon on the road next Tuesday, if he takes care of all necessary administrative work in Germany.

Even if Koo can't make it to the second match, the KFA will not select a replacement.

Koo joins two other South Koreans on FC Augsburg: forward Ji Dong-won and defender Hong Jeong-ho.

It will be Koo's second stint with FC Augsburg. Koo was loaned by VfL Wolfsburg to FC Augsburg in January 2012 and scored five goals in 15 matches to help the club avoid relegation to the second division.

He spent the entire 2012-2013 season with FC Augsburg, scoring three goals in 22 appearances.

On Mainz 05 this season, Koo came off the bench in two of the team's first three Bundesliga matches, with no goals to date.

Alex Song - West Ham (loan)
Article: West Ham United are delighted to confirm the capture of Alex Song from FC Barcelona on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian midfielder is already familiar with the Hammers having spent last season on loan at the Boleyn Ground from the Spanish giants. He follows Pedro Obiang, Dimitri Payet, Darren Randolph, Carl Jenkinson, Manuel Lanzini, Angelo Ogbonna and Stephen Hendrie in joining the Hammers this summer as the Club builds for the final season at the Boleyn Ground.

With 28 Barclays Premier League appearances for the Club already under his belt, Song is looking forward to the new campaign under Slaven Bilic.

He said: "I am very happy. For me it was very important to come back because when I was here I had a great rapport with the fans and the Club.

"It was a very easy choice for me to come back here and I'm very happy to be here.

"When I left I didn't know I would come back here. It was not easy but at the end of the day, the most important thing is I'm here now and I'm very happy.

"I feel at home, everything feels at home, for my family too, they're set up very well here. My kids are playing for West Ham academy.

"Everything was in a good place for me to come back here and I'm very happy to be here. It's a pleasure and it's like I never left here. I'm still here and I'm happy.

"This is a new year, new players have come in and we have the new manager. Everything is changing but the way that the Club wants to be, we have to look at the ambition of the Club and we have to finish better than we did last year."

Douala-born Song made a big impression while on loan with the Hammers in 2014/15, featuring in 31 games in all competition and captaining the team on three occasions.

He started his professional career in France with Bastia, where he made rapid progress to the first team, debuting as a 16-year-old in the 2003/04 campaign. Just a year later he moved to Arsenal on loan, signing permanently with the Gunners in the summer of 2006.

Song made Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League appearances in his first season with the Gunners, despite still being a teenager, and following a loan at Charlton Athletic, established himself as a first team regular for Arsene Wenger.

He moved on to Barcelona in 2012, having made 206 appearances for the Gunners, picking up a League Cup runners-up medal in 2011.

An all-round midfield player capable of breaking up play and prompting attacks of his own, Song added to his trophy haul at the Nou Camp, winning La Liga and the Supercopa Espana in 2013, finishing as runner-up in the league and Copa del Rey the following year, before returning to England with the Hammers in summer 2014.

Internationally, Song was capped 47 times by Cameroon, finishing second in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations and featuring in the last two FIFA World Cup finals. In January 2015, Song announced his international retirement, citing his wish to focus on his domestic career.

Victor Moses - West Ham (loan)
Article: West Ham United are delighted to announce that Chelsea winger Victor Moses has signed for the Club on a season-long loan.

Moses, 24, makes the move across London to link up with the Hammers on Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The 5’10 creator has spent the last two seasons on loan at Liverpool and Stoke City and is delighted to have made the switch to the Boleyn Ground.

Born in Kaduna, Nigeria, Moses grew up in south London and began his football career with Crystal Palace, making his debut aged just 16 in November 2007.

He immediately became a regular in the Palace side and played 69 games for the Eagles in all competitions before completing a £2.5m move to then-Premier League team Wigan Athletic in January 2010..

His rapid progress continued at the DW Stadium, where he spent two full seasons and made 74 top flight appearances.

Moses’ form attracted the interest of Chelsea, who brought him back to London in August 2012. He made 43 appearances in his first season with the Blues, scoring ten goals – including four in the Club’s successful UEFA Europa League campaign.

However, he was loaned to Liverpool early the next campaign and played 22 games for the Reds, before another loan and 23 appearances followed at Stoke City last term.

On the international stage, Moses turned out for England up to U21 level, but chose to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria in 2011, since going on to feature in his country’s victorious 2013 Africa Cup of Nations campaign and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Nikica Jelavic - West Ham (reportedly £6 million)
Article: West Ham United are delighted to confirm the transfer of Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic from Hull City on a two-year contract, with the option of a further two, for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old frontman completed his move after successfully passing a medical at Spire Roding Hospital – the Club’s Official Private Hospital – and will link up with his former national team boss Slaven Bilic at the Boleyn Ground.

Jelavic has scored goals in the Barclays Premier League for Everton and Hull City over the last three years and adds to a striking unit which also features Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll, Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate.

He told whufc.com exclusively: “I am very excited to be signing for West Ham United, especially as it is a big Club and I didn’t know until a couple of days ago that I would have the opportunity to come here.

“Of course it is always a target to play in the Premier League, so when I found out that West Ham wanted me there was no doubt that I wanted to come here.

“I’ve played for Slaven before for the Croatia national team and he is a great manager and a great man. I am really happy and delighted to be working with him and all his staff again.

“I’ll be joining a team that’s on a high after the result on Saturday."

Born in Capljina on the Bosnia-Croatia border, Jelavic’s professional career began under the management of Bilic at Hajduk Split, but he moved across Europe to sign for Belgian side Zulte Waregem at the age of 21.

One season in Belgium preceded a two-year spell in Austria with Rapid Wien, where he found his goal touch to net 27 times in 71 league outings.

The United Kingdom and Glasgow Rangers was the 6’2 frontman’s next stop, and he was yet more prolific during his time at Ibrox, scoring 19 goals in his first season and 17 in the first half of 2011/12, earning a January 2012 move to Everton.

Nine goals in 13 Premier League games that season was a fine way to start at Goodison Park and he added a further eight in his second season with the Toffees.

January 3014 brought his move to Hull, but eight goals last term couldn’t prevent Steve Bruce’s side from suffering relegation to the Championship.

Internationally, Jelavic won 36 caps for his country and travelled to UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but he called time on his Croatia career late last year.

Nathan Bryne - Wolves (undisclosed fee)
Article: Wolves are delighted to confirm the signing of exciting winger Nathan Byrne from Swindon Town.

The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year contract – with a further year’s option in Wolves’ favour - after swapping the Robins for Wolves for an undisclosed fee.

“We are really pleased to add Nathan Byrne to our squad,” said Head Coach Kenny Jackett.

“He is an exciting young player who can play wide on either side, or number 10 behind the striker.

“He has pace, can handle the ball and can get in behind defences – he has developed into a very good attacking player in League One over the last couple of seasons in a very good and successful Swindon team.

“We think he has the right enthusiasm and that the time is now right to step into the Championship and come to a club like Wolves and really help us to push forward.”

Born in St Albans, Byrne played for his home town club before joining Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2010.

During his three years at White Hart Lane he was unable to break into the senior ranks but enjoyed first team action with loan spells at Brentford, Bournemouth and Crawley Town.

He spent the closing stages of the 2012/13 season on a similar loan deal with Swindon, during which time the move became permanent.

In his first full season at the County Ground he made 43 appearances, scoring four goals, and then helped Swindon to the play-off final last year, scoring four from 48.

He was also named in the Sky Bet League One team of the year.

Those statistics are perhaps more impressive given he had played in various positions defensively, as full back or wing back, but he started the current campaign in a more advanced position on the right flank.

And that paid immediate dividends on the opening day, notching a 16-minute hat trick in a 4-1 win against Bradford City, the goal which completed the treble following a mazy dribble.

    Miguel Layun - Porto (loan)
Article: WATFORD midfielder Miguel Layun will spend the rest of the 2015/16 campaign on loan to FC Porto.

The 27-year-old has completed a season-long loan switch to the Portugese outfit, who currently sit top of the Primeira Liga.

Since moving to the Hornets in January, Layun has played 21 times and scored one goal - the opener on the first day of the Premier League campaign away at Everton.

Jesús Corona - Porto (reportedly €10.5m million)
Article: Mexico winger Jesús Corona is off to Portugal after signing a five-year deal with FC Porto, FC Twente confirmed on Monday

Twente agreed to sell Corona to Porto for an undisclosed fee after the two clubs completed negotiations before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

The move ensures the 22-year-old will have the chance to play in the Champions League this season and state his case for a regular starting place with El Tri.

Former Monterrey star Corona moved to Twente two years ago in a bid to establish himself in European football. He spent much of his first season in the Netherlands adjusting to his new surroundings before underscoring his potential with a breakout season last year.

Corona emerged as a potential transfer target for clubs across the continent after establishing himself in the Twente starting XI. He scored nine goals in 27 league appearances and underscored his pace and his technical ability in the process.

Those characteristics prompted former Mexico coach Miguel Herrera to include him in his 23-man squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer. He featured primarily as a substitute during the competition, but he scooped up best young player honors after scoring in the 3-1 victory over Jamaica in the final.

Porto eventually fought off competition from other potential suitors to bring Corona to Portugal. Corona joins Mexico teammate Héctor Herrera in the Porto squad. Porto is also expected to try to seal a deal for El Tri wingback Miguel Layún before the window closes.

With his club future now sorted, Corona is expected to feature for El Tri in the upcoming friendlies against Trinidad & Tobago and Argentina.

Ramiro Funes Mori - Everton (£9.5 million)
Article: Everton can confirm the capture of defender Ramiro Funes Mori from River Plate for a fee of £9.5m.

The Argentina international, 24, has passed a medical, agreed personal terms and put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract at Goodison Park.

He has been allocated squad number 25 for the 2015/16 season.

Funes Mori started his professional career with River Plate and went on to make over 100 appearances for the club.

He contributed with 10 goals in that period and last season helped his former team lift the 2015 Copa Libertadores - the South American version of the UEFA Champions League.

The left-footed centre-half’s only cap to date for the senior Argentina national side was against El Salvador earlier this year.

Roberto Martinez says Ramiro Funes Mori ticked all the boxes when it comes to the quality, experience and potential.

The Argentina international officially completed his £9.5m transfer from River Plate on Tuesday morning, penning a five-year contract at Goodison Park.

Martinez has paid tribute to the 24-year-old’s ‘winning mentality’ and believes the Club’s latest recruit will be perfectly suited for English football and the Premier League.

“I’m delighted for many reasons,” a thrilled Martinez told evertontv. “Firstly, the player we are welcoming into the dressing room fits the profile we need.

“He is a left-footed centre-half - a really good defender who is exceptional in the air with good quality. He will give us great balance in the back-four.

“Then you have got the personality and character of a winner - he has just won the Copa Libertadores with River Plate which is the equivalent of the Champions League in South America.

“You don’t [normally] get that sort of player, at the age of 24, who has just been called up for Argentina, becoming available.

“We have made a massive effort and it is a fee that reflects the value and the ambition that we have as a football club to attract such an exciting player for the future."

Although Mori’s move to Everton was only rubber-stamped on deadline day, the defender has spent more than a week in England finalising the terms of his transfer.

During that time, Martinez has been impressed with the way he has already immersed himself in the values of the football club.

The Everton manager added: “It hasn’t been easy as we all know and those deals take a lot of time as there are a lot of boxes that need to be ticked. But everyone at the football club internally has done a terrific job and every department has made this signing possible.

“We are really looking forward to seeing Ramiro feeling at home at Everton and giving him a really good introduction.

“Just to see him at the game against Manchester City - he wasn’t then our player but he had the scarf around his neck. I think that tells you what a character we are welcoming.”

Jordan Botaka - Leeds (undisclosed fee)
Article: We are delighted to announce the signing of winger Jordan Botaka on a two-year deal from Dutch club Excelsior. The 22-year-old, a Congo international, has moved to Elland Road for an undisclosed fee.

He becomes United’s eighth new arrival of the summer and the first on transfer deadline day. Botaka said: “I am very happy, it happened very fast. In two or three days everything was arranged, it was just crazy. “I knew Leeds were a big club. I looked a few things up and I heard from other people. This is a new adventure for me.”

Botaka, nicknamed ‘The Wizard’ for his trickery and speed, began his professional career in Belgium with Club Brugge, but departed for Excelsior in 2013 after a brief loan spell at Portuguese side Belenenses. He quickly established himself as a regular with Excelsior and helped them to Eredivise promotion in his first season at the club. Botaka featured 33 times in the Dutch top-flight last term and had been ever-present so far this campaign.

As a youngster he was capped three times at Under-19s level for the Netherlands, but he instead opted to represent Congo and made his full international debut for them earlier this year. Botaka is currently away on international duty with Congo and will link up with his new team-mates next week at Thorp Arch after facing Central Africa. Uwe Rosler had made no secret of his desire to bring in a winger before Tuesday’s 6pm deadline, and Botaka becomes the head coach’s eighth new addition of a productive summer for the club. The winger follows Charlie Horton, Lee Erwin, Sol Bamba, Chris Wood, Tom Adeyemi (loan), Ross Turnbull and Stuart Dallas through the door at Elland Road, and he could make his United debut against Brentford a week on Saturday (September 12).

Liam Moore - Bristol City (4 mths loan)
Article: City have completed the loan signing of Leicester City defender Liam Moore until January 4th 2016.

The 22-year-old centre-half arrives on deadline day, having successfully passed a medical.

An England Under-21 international, Moore came through the ranks at Leicester’s Academy.

In his early days Moore spent time on loan at Brentford and Bradford City, gaining valuable match practice.

He played a major role in the Foxes' promotion to the Premier League in 2013/14 and has since played 11 times in the top flight.

Jose Angel Pozo - Almeria (£600k)
Article: Jose Angel Pozo has joined Unión Deportiva Almería on a permanent deal.

Pozo joined City from Real Madrid in 2012 aged 15 and his form at EDS level won him a place in the first-team in September 2014 as the Blues took on Sheffield Wednesday.

The Malaga-born teenager made an instant impact, scoring an 88th-minute goal in a 7-0 victory and the following December, Pozo made his full Premier League debut in the 1-0 win at Leicester City after Edin Dzeko picked up an injury in the pre-match warm-up.

In total, Pozo played four senior games for the Blues and he will now continue his career with Segunda Division side Almeria.

Everybody as Manchester City wishes Jose the very best in his future career.

Anders Lindegaard - West Brom (free transfer)
Article: ALBION have signed goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard from Manchester United.

The 31-year-old has completed the free transfer to The Hawthorns after successfully undergoing a Bank Holiday Monday medical.

The Denmark international signs a two-year deal.

Lindegaard, who has been given the No.21 shirt, said: "Since moving to England I've been impressed with how well West Brom have done in the Premier League.

"I had a good chat with Tony Pulis - I must call him the 'gaffer' now - and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club.

"From there things moved very quickly. I was very keen to get it done so I can just concentrate on the thing that matters most, the football.

"I am very happy to join and hope I can make a big contribution this season."

Lindegaard's arrival will boost what is arguably Albion's strongest-ever goalkeeping unit of recent times.

Goalkeeping coach Jonathan Gould said: "We are bringing an experienced goalkeeper into the mix.

"Anders has an international pedigree, he's a big guy and been part of a very good team at Manchester United.

"He knows Fletch and Jonny Evans already - I'm sure he will fit in very well."

Lindegaard is described as a vocal goalkeeper, who commands his penalty area and has been a solid, reliable presence at Old Trafford since joining the club in 2010/11.

He made 29 appearances for the Red Devils, having previously played for Danish club OB Odense and Norwegian outfit Aalesund.

Lindegaard was named 2010 Goalkeeper of the Year in both Denmark and Norway, with his performances for Aalesund convincing Sir Alex Ferguson to sign him for a reported fee of £3.5million.

Brown Ideye - Olympiakos (undisclosed fee)

The deal for the 26-year-old Nigeria international was finalised in time for ‘Bobby’ to be registered for the Athens-based club’s Champions League campaign.

Ideye joined Albion last summer from Dynamo Kyiv and will be back in England when Olympiakos tackle Arsenal in the Group stages.

He made 31 appearances in all competitions for Albion, scoring seven times.

Glenn Murray - Bournemouth (reportedly £4 million)
Article: AFC Bournemouth have signed Glenn Murray from Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.

The 31-year-old scored 47 goals in 125 appearances for Palace, including 31 in his successful 2012/13 term where he played a crucial role in the club's promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

"It feels great to finally be here," Murray told afcb.co.uk.

"I've come across the club a lot in my career and it's been great to see it progress.

"The way the boys play football is very exciting. It's front-footed and it will be nice to try and get some goals from it."

Murray spent part of last season on loan with Reading, where he scored eight goals in 18 league games before returning to Selhurst Park after Christmas.

Murray first made his mark at Carlisle and Rochdale before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2008. He then moved to Crystal Palace on a free transfer in 2011.

The 6ft 2 striker was selected in the Football Manager Team of the Decade at the Football League Awards earlier this year, as managed by Eddie Howe.
