Aquilani..

Apparently we're thinking of signing this goliath of a central midfielder.

This thread is like trying to convince your wife she's wrong about something...
Your analogy is perfection.
It is, and I don't even have a wife.

When 'Quote of the Year' time comes round, that analogy's a shoe-in.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Aquilani came on tonight against Arsenal and got injured?

Wouldn't it?

Quite. I will be so excited to hear how it is Rafa's fault too.

Awww come on guys, 'magine how hilarious it'd be?

All this build-up, all this talk, this anticipation, this ridiculing of Benitez for buying an injured player. We finally get the lad on the park, he shows some fleeting signs of downright football genius, and then he snaps his leg in half after 5 minutes.

I can't imagine there being anyone out there who wouldn't find that funny.

It will no longer be funny haha, but it will be funny macabre!

Further injuries aside I reckon his first league start for us will be at home to Man City on the 21st November. For once an international break might do us some good as it gives him a chance to build up his fitness more before his debut.

v Arsenal (tonight) 30 minutes minimum
v Fulham (Saturday) Not involved
v Birmingham (home)(Monday 9th) 25-30 minutes as sub.
International Weekend off
v Man City (home) Starts.

Hopefully this is close to the time frame and it would be even better if the ressies have another fixture between tonights game and the International weekend so he can get another hour under his belt.

C-3PO has certainly got the right slender build for a holding player, he's like a camp, gold Didi Hamann
C-3PO? where'd THAT come from?

A galaxy far, far away
ha ha the obvious reply. these are not the holding midfielders you are looking for, move along. ;)

Which is fitting given Aquilani does look like an alien. His eyes are so weird.
One imagines that Aquilani likes playing in the hole too.
