Silva injured in the FA Cup game against the Gunners. Came off halfway through the first half; suspected hamstring injury that might keep him out of the Manc derby.

Pogba limps off.

United have been impressive. Mourinho is definitely starting to make his mark on the squad. I've been impressed by Bailey. They'll certainly be competitive next year.

No one watching / watched El Classico?

Great game. Real end to end stuff.

I thought Barca lost the game (and title) tonight through some truly terrible game management towards the end but Messi wins it in the last minute. Ridiculous.

Loved the reaction of the Real players - they were distraught.

Classico Thoughts:
  • Maybe he's exhausted, but Suarez - who was never the fastest to begin with - seems like he's lost a step. He's not the same player he was at the beginning of the year, or even last year
  • Asensio - If the story really is true, you can see why. The kid is a star in the making.
  • Ter Stegen - Two years ago, we should have gone for him. Maybe he wouldn't be as good here as he's not the tallest, but he's developed into a fantastic keeper
  • Ramos - Precisely tonight was why I've never viewed him as one of the greatest of all time. A tackle like that? 22nd red of his career? That's over half a season of Reds!
  • Messi - wow. Absolutely wow. His celebration ... ha ha.
  • Madrid - I think - are the better team. Better overall players, better coached defensively and should still take La Liga.
  • James ... Before he scored, "Don't want this kid here." After the goal, same ... why? He's ridiculously talented but he just comes off as lazy on the pitch. Can our team handle a lazy player? Maybe ... but kid's got an eye for the pass and that finish was top notch.
  • Mention to Navas too ... he'll be somewhere else, or a #2, unfairly as he's been fantastic tonight and for the better part of 2 seasons.

I agree with most of that. Real just seem to lose their heads against Barca but these days they are a better team I think and I can't see them dropping enough points to lose the title.

I don't know about Suarez not being the same player any more but he has looked tired in last couple weeks. I don't think it's unimaginable that Barca would sell if a big offer came in with a view of getting in someone younger.

Great win for Barca tonight but they've been poor (by their standards) season. Big summer ahead.
