Salah, the man for the big/all occasions

But we do tend to sell our players. 200 million plus is tempting for salah. Thats money to rebuild the midfield (jorgingo,- 65 million pulsic - 85 million and change)

Our midfield isnt actually that important.

I know that goes against the grain, but it's true. They are there more to pass the ball to the forwards than they are to influence the game.

Utd were the same for a few years under Ferguson, we all used to laugh at their midfield, cos it was average (I dont even remember who was in it, Carrick & some other bang average but consistent players) yet they did the job.

It's anathema for us as Liverpool fans to suggest it, such has been the greats we have had in the centre of the pitch for so long, but nevertheless, it's true imo.

We say this all the time, however we always sell our best players.

Torres went and we got Suarez. Suarez was a hard nut to replace, but when Coutinho went we actually got better through Salah-Firmino and now also Mane developing and midfield more balanced.
Alonso was sold base don his own wish, but the Barry saga is part of that one.
Mascherano was also sold to his own wish, but even then we had Lucas coming through the ranks, and we did bring Poulsen in later.

Carrick was never bang average. Quality played who made united tick. The history of club in recent years, is that we will sell.

Re ‘is Mané playing more central?’ From earlier...

Yes. Klopp’s gone a bit 4-3-1-2 since the start of the United game. (He used to do it with coutinho in the #10 but anyway). Reason being that the midfield triumvirate - especially when he has Milner in there - are a bit flat, unimaginative, and one-dimensional. So Mané in there can link the play a bit better between midfield and attack. Secondly, because taking Mané inside gives Robertson more space to exploit. And thirdly, cos since Coutinho’s departed, Mane’s our next best player at holding the ball in small gaps and dragging centre backs out.

Firmino has come out and said this a few days ago.

I dont believe for 1 second our owners would turn down a 600% return on investment in 12 months. A bid of £200m and theyd rip your fucking arm off. Thats the sad part.

Nah. That Investments is 30% of the house at the moment. Keep and the Commercial value on New deals will increase. And we are probably Worth £600 M at the moment, so a sale of £200M will not be of Worth if Salah is around 30% of Our Commercial value at the moment.

We wouldn't sell to a domestic rival, Barca have gone all in on Coutinho and Dembele, which only really leaves PSG and Real.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Neymar.

Either way, I don't see us selling after one season.

Watford are going to be to Salah what Norwich were to Suarez. Easy pickings.
Fuck man! I think I was hanging with you at the Suarez/Norwich smackdown (admittedly my memory is a bit hazy) Was that the game @Dimisra rocked up with a signed pizza plate? . I've NEVER seen a better performance by a player! He was insanely good that day. Salah is getting very close though.

No that was the Fulham game I think. Suarez scored 2 I think. Dimisra's mate got Joe Allen to sign a pizza plate I think.

Way off the mark, obviously talking about better sides than Watford needing to nullify him when we play them.

Nothing to do with buying him

I’m glad I’m way off the mark, despite it appearing in other shitty rags I never read and didn’t know about when my suspicion was raised.

I’m just hoping that this summer FSG actually financially recognize that they got us at a fucking bargain price and that it fucking time they got the wallet out and skunked the cash...

I’m sick of selling our best players and I would not forgive it again...

I remember that moneyball fella saying he’d bring us the league.... fucking do it.... we’ve got a boss manager and loads of good players get a few more in and bring us the trophies.

[article]According to the Premier League's official website, goal machine Salah is actually top of the ‘Big Chances Missed’ table this season with 19 opportunities squandered.

That total puts him ahead of Christian Benteke (18) and Harry Kane (16), in second and third respectively.
The likes of Sergio Aguero, Alexandre Lacazette and Romelu Lukaku also feature in the top 10.

Liverpool fans won't be concerned, however, with Salah proving to be the most special talent seen at Anfield since Luis Suarez.

The Egypt international has contributed 36 goals and 12 assists in all competitions so far this season, winning the Premier League Player of the Month award on two occasions. [/article]
