Retiring on medical grounds, after his fractured skull against Chelsea last year

Shit for the lad, but he's made the right decision, for his family more than anything else.

He'll comfortably get work somewhere in the footballing world I'm sure

    (Right forum this time)

Very sad for him. Hopefully the club will find a role for him.

Strange the phrases we use sometimes. Ryan Mason was interviewed earlier today, and he said: 'When the specialists told me that the brain was damaged as well as the skull, it was a no-brainer'.

Every time I see the still image of Cahill's and Mason's head coming together, I mentally add a crunch sound-effect, because you can just tell even from a static shot that it's a really horrible impact.

    Glass half empty you lot.

Imagine being able to put your mind to whatever you wanted without ever having to worry about bills or whatever from the age of 26. He's become the equivalent of an 18th century aristocrat and should start travelling and writing poetry.

Travel, write poetry, broaden his horizons, open his mind to new experiences.

To be fair with Cahill's help, he tried to open his mind on the football pitch

Clash of heads but Cahill's got a harder head and also headed Mason's right temple.

Something tells me Ryan Mason is not going to be the next Camus.
