Deal agreed allegedly (The latest Twitter Rumours)

£28 million

Sanchez off to UTD we get Ozil..

I rate his ability, and if he were "on it" consistently every week he could defo give us something extra in CM, but his commitment is another matter. I just can't see him fitting into our relentless pressing game.

Hmm, sounds like bs.

That said he had excellent stats regarding pressing when he was at Real Madrid, and was subbed around the 70th minute mark.
But I just cant see this happening. Wage, age and how he'll fit into the current team.

Wait.. Twitter has a hierarchy? This is more newsworthy than the BS rumour.

Can we make a twitter rumours thread? This kind of post belongs in there only.

Jono - what happened to you man? What happened?

When I say Hierarchy, it's rather tongue in cheek..

'ITKs' who insist they are ITKs, but actually aren't all that they really believe they are cracked upto be..

So which of these ESP's has come up with the Ozil story?

That would be a statement signing, he is world class and an assist machine.

Ozil emerges from burrowing his way out of the Emirates, but, ever cautious, listens out for that distinctively sad French voice, 'Oh, Mesut, where are you....?' and ponders what dark crime he must now commit to finally be free...

I think Ozil will have to buy into the pressing, as he can be woeful in that regard.

Then again Arsenal don't really press as a team. You can get away with it, as none of them seem to do it. They certainly don't do it collectively.

Can't remember who they played a few weeks ago, but Arsenal did press and Ozil did it really well. So he is capable, he just doesn't do it enough. Maybe under a more demanding coach, he'll realise he has to do it in order to play.

Then again at home against weaker sides that come to Anfield we need craft more than graft a lot of the time and Ozil still has that. That's the biggest thing we do lose with Coutinho and Ozil could help with that.

So we might have one type of team to win against a side that sits deep at home. Then another type of team to play Bayern Munich away.

He'd give us options and he's very good value in the current market.

If he didn't have his current contract situation, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be interested. But his contract situation does make him more appealing. Even if he doesn't fit our usual transfer model.

I don't see why people are surprised.

The problem isn't Ozil. The problem is Arsene Wenger's USE of Ozil.

Wenger would play him in a game like yesterday. Klopp wouldn't, because he knows we would need legs and pressing to beat City and a Henderson/Can/Wini/Lallana are better suited.

However, against your bus parking teams like West Brom and Everton/United (ha!), sometimes you need a bit of class/invention, and that's where Ozil comes in. Capable of extraordinary moments of class that Hendo/Wini/Can are seemingly incapable of.

If we signed him, for under 30m, I would be delighted. Let's not forget, this guy has more assists in the league than anyone in the league, since he's arrived.

If used properly, he's in the same bracket as your David Silvas' and Eriksens'. I think Klopp would use him in the right games and his workrate would go up too. Ozil would not move to a Klopp team if he felt incapable of running/pressing (even against the smaller teams).

How many miles does he run per game? how many sprints without the ball. That's what we wana know about.

we are turning away quality creative players like Mahrez and Ozil because we think they don't run enough

Truth is we need a little bit of magic from midfield, someone who can pull that pass, a rabbit out of the hat.. A playmaker.. Ozil will give you that in abundance..

He does have a pressing game about him.. He just doesn't get used correctly by his current manager... See OX as prime example of this..

Klopp is great at getting players playing to their strengths and Ozil and a LFC team with Ozil in it could very well benefit from that.. Could you imagine his pings to Salah, Mane and Co, to break down those stubborn of stubborn defences... Wow.. It would be something else..

We really should be all over this.. He could give us that extra option, signing him may also help in securing the services of Can, a fellow German, which imho, would be insane if we let him go..

He will come and fight with ox and Lallana for that spot supporting/feeding the front 3. Don't see him take a deeper spot?

Only be fighting that position with Lallana..

Ox is winger, right midfielder.. Thats how Klopp sees him and wishes to use him

Nah his best positions are behind the striker in the front three attacking roles.
If he's signed, he's a direct replacement for Coutinho.

He used him in CM yesterday, so he must see him an option in that role.

Might be less of an option if Lallana gets back to his best / more fitness or we sign someone like Ozil.

But currently he's a central attacking midfield option.

That’s a lot of money for a 29 year old who will be on a free in a few months.

Sanchez or Özil given the choice?

Was there a pundit in the world not celebrating how fit, hard working and brave our midfied three was yesterday was?

Fast track 24 hours and we are allegedly signing Bug eyes.

Lol
