But, I read somewhere that the Llama will be back after the international break?

I have quite given him up as an alternative for us.

I'm not actually sure how he'll fit in now.

I could be, & hope I am, proved wrong, but for me his technique of close control & turns behind the front three to play the ball in won't work that well when we're playing our usual (so far unseen this season) style of fast blitzing attacks.

He may well suit the controlling style of football that we seem to be experimenting with, by dropping back a bit & ensuring we retain possession whilst threatening a forward move at times, so perhaps when he's back to fitness we'll see him used sparingly against certain sides rather as a regular.

I think it's good that we seem to be experimenting with more than one style of play, but so far the Sturm & Drang approach seems to be the one that we have the best results with, and the right personnel for.

A more controlled playing style requires more players with the ability to change tempo, and find the space and time to pick out passes, and be able to take possession under pressure, and not just lay the ball off sideways straight away. We don't have footballers like Silva, Isco, De Bruyne, Modric et al.

We can’t blitz teams or solely rely on quick transitions against teams that park the bus anyways. So there is always gonna be a place for creative floaty types like Lallana.

Lallana specifically? I’ve given up on him too.

I think we all have. Before the season started I was happy to see him as a bench option and he does offer something different to our other players but now he's just gone full Kewell. Useless

I agree, however I also think it's obvious we can't play our all action style over a long season & not suffer a drop off, &, hyperbole over this imaginary 25 point advantage or not, City, & perhaps even Chelsea, are in full position to make that cost us.

As such I think we need to find a way to switch tempos in game & conserve energy without blunting our attack, & I think what we've been seeing is Klopp trying to find that solution.

I heard from a source inside the club that his knee is completely fucked and he’ll be lucky to kick a ball ever again.

Is your source reliable? That’s a bold statement about a player we’re activiley helping recover and continue paying his wages.

Well relatively, from within the medical team. The knee injury he has is rare and he’s done most of his tendons in his knee, proper fucked.

Obviously that’s down to opinion, but no player ever really recovers from a knee injury damaging one tendon, and he’s damaged multiple.

I doubt the club would just bin him off, or ever publicly admit that, but be interesting to see what happens.

Theres been something very odd about how this has been handled from the start. The whole 'we knew he shredded his ligaments but didnt say so til after the CL final' was obviously bullshit. It seems as though we have no idea how long this will take to recover from.

Why can't we send Ox and Lallana to that magic witch doctor that Man City always seem to use.

Players who were supposed to be out for 4 months, come back in 2. He seems to be treating them with some very special medicine. We could use some of that.

Very talented player but this is why i was very surprised we went in for him in the first place.  He has a horrendous injury record and most probably always will.  Another sturridge.

Knee injuries are more often than not due to bad luck. So I wouldn't exactly put his latest injury on his history.

I'm interested to know about the injuries that thrive in good luck.

I still can’t get that cunt out of my head, encouraging him to stand and try some weight out on his mangled knee.
