Wolves just had a perfectly good goal disallowed that would have made it 1:2 against Spurs. I had a feeling this round was going to be not too good when Rashford scored the injury-time winner.

Wolves pull another one back after missing a sitter a few minutes previously.
Spurs to nick another undeserved three points again more than likely.

Only consolation is it's Southampton on the receiving end. After the sheer hypocrisy of the artificial fuss they made over the van Dijk business, I wouldn't pee on that club if it were on fire.

Well of we beat them 3 nil then i guess city will put 7 past them. When i had no hope in southampton...i had no idea they would be so pathetic.

And 2 mins after I switch over to the Chelsea match that cuntrag Morata scored. Should have been called offside on the initial ball in.

Title is theirs to lose.

I said this from the day dot.. 25 ponits was the difference last season.. We are now beginning to see the reasons why..

We will get 85 - 90 pts this season, so it will be a vast improvement, but we ain't winning the title.. Absoloutley no way.

City are another level above us, Barca level... Their midfield is the difference between the two sides.

Phenomenal..

Unfortunately I agree.

Wouldn't be surprised if they went unbeaten.

We will beat them at the Emptyhad, but that will probably be their only loss.
We are not beating them the way we are playing and the way they are playing. We will need to hit another level .. or two, and hope they drop off slightly.

No it isn't. The difference is the £2billion that's been put into the team and playing facilities, allowing them to have one of the most expensive and best-paid squads in football history. They have £50m players in every position and a bench filled with the same.

But if we want to talk about the midfield, it's interesting that they only really play with one holding midfielder - the peerless Fernandinho - and against Southampton they played David and Bernardo Silva, who are both diminutive attacking midfield players, and the front three was Sterling, Aguero and Sane.

That's 5 attacking players on the pitch at the same time, with two very attacking fullbacks aswell.

Klopp doesn't even trust one attacking midfielder in his CM trio, although maybe that's because he doesn't have a good enough defensive midfielder

Maybe, but (rightly or wrongly, and I'm honestly not sure where I stand on that) he may not actually want players in there who specialise heavily in one or the other category. It's tended not to be the German way down through the years - a lot of the time they've tended to pick, and/or train their midfielders to be, all-rounders and one can see how that would make sense in the context of Klopp's preferred style, relying as it does on constant mobility and interchange between his players.
