My Dear 6CM'ers - a depressing weekend, I take no solace from Klopp's words after that draw last night. Any other time before last season - a draw against Arsenal at their ground may have been a good result. But I have lost hope this season based on City's achievements last season and what they are doing so far this season.

I don't think I have ever seen a more brutal team - so clinical, and defensively sound as they are perform so consistently. He (Pep) is turning me to believe that maybe the man has found the ideal tactical approach to football that other managers just cannot find. I no longer buy into @manwithnoname ' s theory that he has done well only coz he has managed with big financial backing. If anything this league of ours should have been the one where he realized that financial muscle alone would not be enough - but when his team keep smashing the lower opponents by 4/5/6 goals then it changes everything. No matter what you think of the man or the money behind it all - it takes someone to assemble a 'team' to do what he is doing - the stats and performances speak for themselves.

I mean we cannot even breath at the moment can we ? - there can be no off day for our team - we just have to win every game and on top of that we have to score shit load of goals against those we are expected to beat with ease. We have been making that look extremely hard this season. Then that other fucked up team - just won't die will it - yes Chelsea ? - I figured them out to have a different system - they get a goal and then they will defend, people say we were the better team when we played them - but that was only because they decided to defend after scoring, and only after we scored that late goal did they decide to come out again.

I don't know what Klopp can do, I actually don't believe buying more players will solve anything now, cannot really see where we will end up this season, I should be happy but the my biggest fear now is that if we end up with nothing this season despite all the efforts of the players - then will we be able to keep the best of what we have happy at our club ? Are any of you feeling the same way - what are your thoughts on where we are headed this season ?

Why you being such a little bitch!!
This week we were away at Arsenal, they played home to Southampton.

Next week we are home to Fulham and they have to play United.

We have played away at Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs aswell as playing City at home.

Meanwhile they have been playing a load of shit.

Between the 10th of December and the 10th January we leave the North once and thats only as far as Wolverhampton. In that same busy period, City have to travel all the way to Chelsea, then Leicester and then Southampton.

Lets not start soiling our breeches yet

I’m not backing morons post at all and we still have a great chance of winning this thing in May, but the above isnt exactly true.

They have been away to Arsenal, Tottenham and us, and remain unbeaten. See what happens next week but I think they will twat Utd.

I just really don’t see where they are gonna drop points. We needed to beat them at home. If we wanna win the thing, then we need to win at their place.

I have every fucking right to be a little bitch pussy if thats how i feel. Right now our lot are just not finishing shit off like they should do. You talk about Fulham next week ... well lets just say some of my faith would be restored if we could put 7 past them. Just to prove a point to the rest.

You’re correct in your assessment that we aren’t finishing chances. Salah, Mane, and Firmino are being kind of shit at the moment.

They have been away to Arsenal.

Compare that Arsenal to the one we faced ...

I was actually going to start a post today saying 'Optimistic Monday' (even though I feel less confident).
  • We're unbeaten
  • It is really difficult to score against us.
  • We have a world class CB in VvD and a potential world class understudy in Joe Go.
  • Both our midfield signings have yet to come close to the level they're capable of reaching (Keita and Fabinho).
  • Bar Mane at season's beginning, and a few flashes from Salah, we've not had our front 3 click properly this season.
  • Most of us have felt - despite our good 'result' form - that we've not clicked.
  • We're top of our CL group and should qualify.
  • Shaqiri
  • Gini
  • Robbo
  • TAA hasn't been up to par yet - and will get back to the swing of things
  • Alisson seems class.
We're on the right path ...

I think we might be able to beat them head to head and knock them out of a cup, but I dont see anybody beating them over a 38 game league season. Its not that we are bad, they are just a brilliantly well oiled machine. Even missing their best player this season they havent broken a sweat

Oncy deffo had his cock out when typing this post. He possibly even typed it with deft taps of his love truncheon upon the keyboard. Its power emanates through this post very clearly.

Emirates?

Why on earth do you think that???

Well, if I'm being generous it might be because this is a far more competitive league than Germany, Italy, France or Spain, which is why it's quite rare for clubs to successfully retain their league title, and also why there's been three different Champions in the last five years.

There's also other very wealthy clubs competing at the top, although it's also fair to say that there's still an obvious and unbridgeable wealth gap between the Arabs and anyone else.

I don't think you are being generous - but appreciate the fact that you actually get at what I was referring to - something that seems to have escaped the original piss taker that you were responding to.

Yes these Arabs are much richer but - on the face of it - the 4 main teams in question - Chelsea, Man United, Man City and us - I personally think that the players that these teams have are the players the managers themselves take a specific preference to. I cannot see any difference in quality now - on any given day - any of those teams could beat one another - it's all about consistency and how well they play against the other lesser teams. Of those teams - you could say the best player amongst them that would make a clinical difference to any one of those sides is Hazard. I don't think City, United, and us have a better player than him in their/our squad.

It then comes down to the coaching, and how well the players take that in. Klopp has had over 2 seasons now to get his shit right - and all those fluffy little nice things @LeTallecWiz has mentioned looking at the positives mean fuck all to me. This season - we are going for the title - it's not about improvement - it is about winning shit.

You are all saying the front 3 have not clicked - well how about looking at it at another way - what if the other teams now know how to deal with them ? it's not like they have actually stopped scoring have they ? - what's changed is that they are finding it much harder this season because of better marking and teams finding ways to stop the interplay between the 3 of them. As for the midfield - and our approach - it is so clear what the issues are - they just don't move that ball forward fast enough - unless the opposition are completely dire shit. This is a matter of coaching - and in my view our possession stats and ball retention have gone down since Klopp first took over - we really need to find other ways of countering the more talented sides.

@Piedro - your post quote: "I just really don’t see where they are gonna drop points. " - that is what is very worrying - you see with Mourinho's Chelsea in the past - they were quite pragmatic as much as they were attacking - these fuckers at City and their coach is a relentless first class c*nt. They won't resort to defending after things are sorted - or game disruption against lesser opponents they will just keep getting at them and trying to score as many goals as possible. So it is unlikely we will see a situation where the likes of WBA beat Man United away, or Huddersfield draw against Chelsea at Chelsea's ground. Those freak results just will not happen with any frequency with this lot.

The worse part of this is - that I actually prefer our front line, and defence more than City's !!! - so even a player swap would not even ease my worries.

Right, so.....you think we have a better side than City?

I didn't ask why YOU think that.

Also:

"they just don't move that ball forward fast enough - unless the opposition are completely dire shit. Moving the ball forward very quickly is exactly what Klopp's usual style is , and isn't about ball retention and possession.

That being said...I'm scared of the point scoring pace of the top 5 clubs. I have certainly not seen anything like this in any of the top leagues.

Or is it that the bottom half are unable to compete in this highly inflated transfer market and have become cannon fodder?

There's a gap, yeah, but clubs like Everton and Fulham have spent over £100m on players in the last few windows, and even little Bournemouth, with a tiny stadium, got £111m of TV money last season, and spent £25m on Jefferson Lerma and £20m on Nathan Ake.
