NFL - Offseason, Draft & 2018/19 Season

On my way to Wembley.
Pittsburgh on a Bye week makes it super easy for one week only to be a Chargers fan.

Im going with Mark (Atbanter Falcons) who I coincidentally have my match up with this week, so I am hoping we both enjoy Melvin tearing shit up.

:)

I’ll bang up some pics later on.

You boys have got to try and get here next year. The atmosphere is amazing already.
Yous can stay at mine. I live one stop from
wembley on the train.

i'm going to make an effort for it next year.

Thielen with another good TD catch, stretches the lead in the white WR stakes.

Great pick up by me this week Keryon Johnson. Start of the second quarter he has 100 yards.

on my bench , of course

Gallup TD for the Cowboys is worth seeing.
He completely fooled the cornerback, brilliant.

Great route - Skins and Boys are doing nothing offensively. It seems this game will be about who makes the first real mistake on offense ...
Allen and Payne have been destroying us so far though - Zeke has 13 yards on 10 carries.

horrible fucking loss. horrible.
3 big first downs called by holding penalties ...
hugely debatable 5 yard call on a FG kick to tie it.
COWARDLY fucking play calling AGAIN when we can try to win the game ...
Linehan has to go - that is fucking bullshit. You have a shot at the endzone, TAKE IT you pussy

Maher scores that without the penalty is my guess, horrible fucking loss to take.
As you said, penalties killed us.

Linehan needs to go.

Jason Garrett has to go too.

Oddly enough, I still think he can do the job well. The team obviously plays for him - I just think the offensive play calling since Dak's rookie year, where the NFL didn't know the player, has been very poor. If we had a creative Offensive coordinator, I think we're 5-2/6-1.

After winning my second fantasy match of the season i reckon i could take over from Garrett.

I got RUINED by the Rams massive D.
Mark scored 21 points off them fuckers.
Then zeke serves up a turd.

Missed Gordon bad.

Luckily bottom 3 all won so it much of a muchness for the league

I'm not sure this is a good move - it's a first round pick (i.e. 5 years) we're giving up for a player we may lose shortly for zilch.
He's physically gifted, runs great routes but Gruden's set up is really to blame for what's happening?
I hope I'm wrong but this makes me feel like Galloway/Roy Williams MK II.

I think its in no doubt that we overpaid, but he was a 2 x pro bowler in his first two seasons with 2,200 recieving yards.
Still only 24. I like him, and hope the gamble pays off.

The most unpredictable act of Gruden’s tenure came on Monday, when he won a trade resoundingly. The Raiders sent Amari Cooper—who has averaged less than 50 yards a game since the start of the 2017 season—to Dallas for the Cowboys’ first-round pick, which, assuming they do not improve drastically, will be a fairly good one since the Cowboys are one of 14 teams currently under .500. Cooper’s yards per route run has declined three straight seasons and he hasn’t cracked the top 30 in his career in that metric. This season he’s 62nd among receivers.

And :

There’s an old joke that says when you are being chased by a bear, you don’t need to outrun the bear, just the person running alongside you. This is true in football. You do not need to be the smartest team in the league; you just have to find one team dumber than you and you’ll get value. Gruden found it Monday with the Cowboys.

Let's be honest - Carr has not been the same QB since his knee injury two years ago. A 12-4 team with basically the same team was pretty dysfunctional last year, and this year, it's rather obvious (based on the fact Gruden was willing to trade a player he has previously gushed about) the two didn't click, be it Gruden's coaching style or his offense play calling. Not sure the 2nd bit is going to improve that much with a offensive coordinator in Dallas whom I really don't rate, but the last time we had a Miami born wr who ran great routes, we weren't too shabby. Here's hoping Jerry - after being humbled by the Eagles front staff last year (they offered the Raiders a 2nd rounder, and Washington was also in the mix - can finally 'win' one of these WR trades.

And the talk has been that they would be after a WR in the first round next season, but the early scouting reports dont even have a WR in the top 20 of next years draft class. Early days of course, but I think they saw more value in Cooper now than a rookie WR in 2019.
We overpaid but I dont agree that we got shafted. He’s a good player with a high ceiling and his performances in 15/16 were fantastic. Still only 24. Fingers crossed.

we got shafted mate - a 1st rounder for cooper is steep. i should have been a 2nd tops, or 3rd.
Fucking hell - Josh gordon was a 5th and although he's not a mellow kid (there's nothing negative out there on coop), his talent and potential is off the chart.

Lets hope it turns out to be a good trade, otherwise this will be hard to take..

Did you read the article I linked, they listed the other times the Cowboys traded a first round pick for a WR. Its not pretty.
