NFL - Offseason, Draft & 2017/18 Season

I watched Redzone again.

Jimmy G looks like a proper QB.

How the fuck did that Indy Buffalo game go ahead ? That was mental

Only weather it generally gets called off for is lightening. Killed my FF team though. The other person had McCoy and Gore. And the git even had Williams from GB.

I thought Indy got screwed when the 2 point conversion was flagged.

Watching Vinatieri trying to get ready for the kick afterwards was hilarious, they took a timeout so they could clear the ground for him. And i'm fairly certain a couple of Bills were celebrating before the wind took the kick inside the post.

I have a feeling Ravens will beat you this weekend. It will be a watershed moment in your season. Either you will kick on or implode.

Just a feeling I got.
We were very lucky. Our defence without Shazier is a fucking shambles.

Rogers cleared to play.
GB 7-5 with the next three ALL against conference rivals (Panthers, Vikings and Lions)
This could be FUN

Meh.. We are fucking shite vs Dolphins. In all facets of the game. Lucky it was this week rather than next.

Both teams lacking good LBs.
How does one become a Patriots fan? What evilness is at play here?

One becomes a patriots fan from being a child of the 80s and seeing England in the name during the C4 show.

Not understanding how shit New England were back then, nor understanding what 'Patriot' meant.

Fast forward to 2000, going out for a few weeks during the greatest show on turf era (reigning SB champions at the time), I watched back to back NFL games live for the first time...

Anyways. Long boring story, but yeah thats it. Could have started supporting a new team I guess could have glory supported and started following St Louis Rams or Bucs where I was staying, or even Ravens where my hosts were originally from. If London get an expansion team I'll 100% shift alligencies.

Fair. I miss the Patriots old helmet with the centre holding the ball. That and the broncos helmet.
Maybe Houston Oilers a bit too.

Oh my... What an ending.
70 yard catch and run by JJSS
James doesn't maintain possession for the TD - fucking shite rule if you ask me.
Next play can't get out of bounds
Next play batted and intercepted.

That is football.

New England jump from 3rd seed to 1st seed in that passage of play.

I'll always feel sorry for plays like this ... Remind me of cursing out that cunt of a ref on Dez's catch against Green Bay ...

Really good game for the Cowboys too against the Raiders. Should have hammered them by a few scores in the 1st half ... Only 10-0. Eventually 17-17 in 4th quarter ... we get a crazy 4th down conversion (thought it was a poor spot), but ref measured it with a piece of paper to check it. 40 yard bomb to Dez and then can't put it in from the 1 yard line ... Raiders get the ball with a minute down 20-17. 3rd 10 should be a pick 6 but dropped ... 4th and 10 long throw and pass interference ... Derek Carr misses a throw and then next play, goes for the pylon and loses the ball after a hit ... Touch back game over.

Zeke is back ... Supposedly in killer shape ... He's an angry angry man with a chip on his shoulder ... If we win out (10-6) and get some help, I look at us as a dangerous player in the playoffs ...

Seattle and Carolina helped you out yesterday.

I say the former tongue in cheek of course.

Still a chance. There remaining fixtures are Saints and Panthers which are anything but a gimme. Although its unlikely they'll lose both, which is what you need.

Need Detroit to lose too ... won't happen ... well, that's me trying to jinx it and I suck at jinxes.

I was super angry by that call. Obviously it's the rule but it's crap. The plane was broken.
That said our insistence on man coverage vs Gronk is what cost us. Not that call.

I agree.. If you can whack the pylon, that should have been a TD.
But then what happened afterward was sheer lunacy from the OC and Ben.

The big play you gave up you went back to zone coverage. Gronk loves zone coverage. Your instance on keep putting Davis on him was costly. As was our decision to keep matching Gilmore and Bryant up. He has got to be one of the most under rated WRs. When he is on it.. Wow.

[article]Multiple teams complained to the NFL last week that the Packers violated the rules regarding players who are eligible to be placed on injured reserve -- and that Green Bay should have to release quarterback Aaron Rodgers as a result, league sources told ESPN.

NFL rules stipulate that a player needs to have suffered a new injury that would sideline him at least six weeks to be placed on injured reserve. If that is not the case, the team is obligated to release the player once he is healthy.

Rodgers was activated off injured reserve and played last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers but came out of the game because he was "sore," according to Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

But Green Bay did not announce its decision to place Rodgers back on injured reserve until Tuesday, after the Packers had been eliminated from a potential postseason spot.

Had the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, keeping alive Green Bay's playoff chances, it's possible Rodgers could have played Saturday night against the Minnesota Vikings. But the Packers opted to shut him down, which teams complained was a violation of NFL rules.
It is not believed that Rodgers suffered any type of new injury against the Panthers. On Thursday, McCarthy described Rodgers as being in "rest-and-recovery mode."

"He's on IR, so it's a different schedule," the Packers coach said. "His is different because he's still very involved and goes to the meetings and so forth, but he has a distinct rehab plan that all the guys on IR do as far as his rehab as he moves forward."

If Rodgers didn't suffer a new injury but was placed back on injured reserve anyway, NFL rules stipulate that the Packers would have to release him -- which nobody expects will happen. It is why multiple teams raised the issue. Teams wanted to know why the Packers were being granted immunity.

The NFL referred all inquiries about the situation to the Packers, who have declined comment. But one source said Rodgers wasn't going to be medically cleared to play in Green Bay's next game, and the Packers knew he wasn't 100 percent.

Still, not gaining medical clearance and being placed on injured reserve are two different things -- which is what drew the ire of multiple teams around the league.

Rodgers was placed on injured reserve and missed seven games after suffering a broken right clavicle in Green Bay's game against Minnesota on Oct. 15. In the Packers' loss to the Panthers, he threw three touchdowns and three interceptions -- the first time he has been picked off that many times in a game since 2009.[/article]

Best case scenario: $x00,000 fine
Likely scenario: $x00,000 fine and loss of a few draft picks
Worst Case Scenario: Releasing Rodgers
If I was a betting man: NFL docks all their 2018 draft picks from the Patriots.

Instant replay took a hit today.
Benjamin's catch was ruled a TD - no way there was anything conclusive to overturn it and they still did ...
(Bills vs Pats)

Actually, if you look at the split screen it was 100% a TD. Shocking call. I can't believe they didn't give that view to the officials at the time.

Another week, another call that benefits us. Our luck will run out very very soon.

Jax loss means 1st round bye. Steelers loss tomorrow and we'll have #1 seed.

Cowboys season is over.
Bryant had a fucking shocker - selfish prick, horrible turnover, lazy route on Dak's 1st INT and nice butter fingers for the 2nd INT. He's finished as a top WR.
The refs are a joke though - they call holding on bennett (borderline) and then Taco get his blatantly held and they ignore it on a key Seattle 3rd down conversion.
Linehan needs to be fired - he's proven over the course of the season he is utterly unable to call games unless everything goes right. No adjustments, no deep throws - horrible and he's one of the the highest paid OCs in football. Fire.
A playoff game and we play like a bunch of fucking doeses.

I'm not sure what's worse for my health - being a Cowboys or Liverpool fan, but I'll probably be underground before I"m 50 because of these fucking clubs ... Waste of time.

Cowboys were disappointing today but they are definitely not as bad as this season showed. Both Garrett and Linehan should be fired. If they are able to hire someone decent I can see a Rams style season next year with a decent playoff run.

Jimmy G is lighting up the Bay Area!!!

Jimmy G looks fucking legit - what I noticed (and it's what I think is missing most from Dak's game) is he releases the ball early and confidently. Keeps the defense on their toes ... He's their franchise QB ... GREAT trade.

As for the boys - I'd keep Garrett for some reason. THe team definitely plays for him, but he's gotta have a younger, brasher OC.
