Where will Romo land?
Can the Patriots continue the greatest dynasty in NFL history with another Super Bowl run?

Draft in 2 months ...

Who are we signing?? Surely some pass rushers and defensive reinforcements.

I think D-Ware will sign a 1-2 year contract to try and win a SB with us ... We'll resign Carr & Church, and I think we'll make a move in the draft to get one of the stud CBs/Safeties ...

Wouldnt mind getting OJ Howard as a new TE either in the draft.

The Steelers just released Justin Gilbert. Seems as though people are claiming he lacks passion for the game. You'd think we would be interested, but maybe better to stay away.

OJ Howard will be looooong loooong gone by the time we draft - I'll be amazed if he lasts past 20, he was fantastic during the senior bowl to cap off an impressive year at 'Bama.

If we want to go with a new TE, I'd trade out and get that kid from Miami - he's a freak (Njoku I think).

Gilbert ... If someone doesn't want to play football, not much you can do about that ... However, that was the problem with Rolando McClain and he was really good for us ... If only he could have stayed off the drugs.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jaylon Smith - all the reports I said are that he seems to be making a full recovery (i.e. nerve regenerating). He was a top 5 pick before he blew out his knee ... If he's back, that's going to be a phenomenal boost to our team.

Are there any good pass rushers in the draft?

That would be great news about Jaylon Smith. Thats a potential fantastic player for us.

Was reading through the potential free agent lists last night. Imagine if Eric Berry ends up a free agent... Wont happen mind.

Disappointing draft from the point of view of interesting names.

Taco Charlton being the first round standout.

It gets better if you go deeper.

JuJu Smith-Schuster
Dawuane Smoot
Budda Baker
Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
Fish Smithson

The #1 pick should be Garrett, who's head n' shoulders the best one ... There's quite a few interesting pass rushing prospects - but I don't believe any '1st round prospects' for us where we're picking. @MC Golgotha will probably be able to give more helpers here.

Berry said he wouldn't play on the franchise tag again ... Which either means long term deal, retirement or a trade.

Patriots need a TE and RB - fully expect both Bennett and Blount to move on in the off season. Blount is useful against cannon fodder opposition, but consistently found out against the better run defences.

Bennett wants a payday, he won't get it when we already have Gronk. I expect Floyd will stay in 2017 and try and rebuild his name, so wide receivers are unusually covered.

I also expect Hightower, Ryan and possibily Branch will be retained. Anyone else is pure guess work.

I have no idea about college football however, any decent RB/TE in the draft?

For running backs, Dalvin Cook is a fucking maniac out of Florida State. Also has pretty soft hands and should turn out to be a reliable catch option too. Injuries might be a concern as he has had some shoulder issues, but he's the best natural runner in the draft. I really want Christian McCaffrey to make it at the pro level, but not sure he has the size to operate as a full time RB, especially on blocking duty. He is an ankle breaker on returns though, and can open teams up from anywhere on the field if he gets going, so might make a very useful Reggie Bush type weapon. Leonard Fournette is the other big star running back in the draft. He's a beast, and on paper looks great. But I would have the same worry about him that I have with a lot of the big name Crimson Tide RBs that come out - he already has A LOT of miles on the clock. something like 700 carries. Those SEC defences are not fuck about things, and he's been making Leonard shaped holes in them for four quarters, week in week out for three years. If he goes somewhere with a decent line, he'll be explosive. But if he has to start making holes for himself on Sundays, I think he could get ground down and struggle the way we've seen other Alabama/SEC RBs struggle - Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Todd Gurley, etc.

As far as tight ends go, OJ Howard has perennially been the most underused player in college football at Alabama.

@MC Golotha - Cook is going to end up at Indy or the Eagles I think, unless he goes postal at the combines ... Chalres-esque (Jamaal that is).

Harsh on Gurley no? Or you think he won't replicate his freshman year?

Yeah, probably. He's don better than those others (although Ingram hasn't been dreadful the last couple of seasons). I like Gurley a lot, but that Rams line isn't going to help him out much. He made more carries this year but his production was way down. Didn't manage to break off any long gains at all. Probably just a case of being at the wrong team. I think he'll struggle to play the way he wants to. Can see them working more and more catching plays for him though.

I read that Shanahan wants to be Offensive Co-ordinator too. He needs a franchise QB.

It'd be a good season if he finishes better than 8-8

Niners should try and get Jimmy G from NE ... Patriots will be looking to trade him anyways as he won't re-sing next year if Brady wants to play for another decade!

I was going to say Garrapolo as he's already been whored to Browns. I think the problem is this.

NE see him as a future franchise QB so want a first round pick either this or next year from one of the franchises on a bad losing record this year.

Browns have already said no, I can't imagine SF trading such a pick this year unless they really see JG as the starting QB for the next decade.

I've got to say, to me he doesn't look amazing. Admittedly a lot of snaps he has are in garbage time, but he looks on an Osweiler level to me.

Not really. Its a low risk, potential high reward. Given he's effectively a free agent, wouldn't any potential teams only have to offer a one year deal as a minimum?

He knows its his last shot if he wants to be known as somebody, rather than the kid who blew his shot.

No way Shanahan takes Manziel.
Not with the impatience the Niners show towards their head coaches.
I think it will be Cutler who has links with the Shanahan clan.
If that offensive calling doesn't liven him up then he needs to forget about it.

I cant imagine a scenario that would make me talk myself into signing Manziel. Even if he does behave himself, and he has never demonstrated any willingness to take his professional career seriously, you have immediate problems before you get near the field. Clowns bring the circus with them, and there'll be a media scrum generated by his presence alone.

I don't suppose the league will take action over his legal troubles, but with the way they've dreadfully mishandled previous domestic violence cases, you don't know. So there could be a six game suspension there right off.

And really, what potential is there anymore? The things that made him so electric to watch in the SEC were things that were never going to translate to Sundays. Going for two bills through the air and on his feet. The way he extended plays. Throwing to Mike Evans in double coverage.

The chances of him getting it together on the field are so slim, and have to be stacked against the guaranteed distractions he creates. Drafting him was the most Cleveland thing ever, but I don't see a real organisation signing him. Jerry might have had half a dream about it a couple of years ago, but surely not even he's that insane now.

There's zero QB value in the draft at number two, but if Cleveland take Garrett then selecting Watson or Trubisky (personally, I like Mahomes, but pro scouts seem to undervalue him - maybe that'll change by the draft) at two makes more sense to me than burning time and money on Manziel. Although taking Allen or Lattimore and looking for a QB free agent is surely the way to go.

Cousins is unlikely, but the Bills will probably be trying to backpedal away from Tyrod as he's never worth the contract they gave him but they have an out option. Chiefs won't be retaining Foles either, I wouldn't have thought. Even at more money, they're both better options than Manziel. If they want Cutler, I'll carry him to the bay myself.
