And even if he does turn out to be superb it doesn't solve the big problem we will still have in Jan when he and Mane fuck off for a month.
You do realise the ACON is not an annual competition, don't you? Unless you are referring to their bromance honeymoon that may be penciled in for January

Hmmm. That's a pretty incredible list. I could overlook the attempt to sign Dempsey. Although I think Costa just preferred Chelsea didn't he?

Oh there was some bollocks about how he had been identified as a top target when Suarez was on his way, but decided to stay at AMadrid for another year after discussions with us.

And then eventually joined Chelsea a year later.

Yet another player that the much-maligned Rodgers tried to sign years ago, only to get gazumped or let down by his own transfer negotiating team.

If his judgement had been backed, the likes of Salah, Van Dijk, Diego Costa and Dele Alli would all be Liverpool players, for a grand total of about £40m.

this has been the elephant in the room for a while now.

It would be a lot easier to discuss if he hadn't signed so many useless cunts. It's hard to make a credible case for him and simply pretend that all the mongs he signed weren't his idea, especially when Borini and Joe Allen clearly were, for example.

Righto.

Costa didn't want to come and would have cost the best part of £40m on his own.
Rodgers mentioned VVD last month. Harry fucking Hindsight
With the benefit of hindsight, pissing about with Salah may have been a mistake. Granted.
We would have paid cash plus Henderson for Clint Dempsey.
We have Alberto fucking Moreno

Rodgers is a cunt. End of story.

The Costa interest was before his valuation was anywhere near 40m, if that story is to be believed anyway

And I've made the rest of the points in your post earlier in the thread, and far more elegantly.

I could break it down to make you look like a cunt, but you do a far better job of that than I could ever do.

Some list, but I'm sure most managers for top teams have such lists. Players who they identified and wanted but couldn't get due to one reason or another. Probably more fair to look at who he missed out on and then went on to sign instead too.

as you always say, every manager signs duds. and they really fucking do. rodgers didn't do too bad really.

Does anyone have a list of Rodgers' signings? Because I'm almost convinced I hated about 95% of them.

I've just done a quick scan. He brought 33 players in for 200 million. Out of those 33, I'm happy with about ten of them. And that includes polarising figures like Sakho and Mignolet. One in three being a success is a bit shit really.

At an average of 6 mill per player, you can't really ask for an awful lot.

the bottom line is that i think klopp has a celebrity edge which will get him over the line with a slightly higher category of players than rodgers.

It is difficult to say which transfers can be attributed to Rodgers and which one to the transfer committee. In the end I think he was not particularly good or particularly bad at transfers. He doesn't have an Alonso, Suarez, Torres level signing he could point to but that could have been Dele Alli or Van Dijk, if they had come through. He also wanted Bertrand over Moreno which would have been a win for him.

Salah and Costa - difficult to say if it was him or was it the transfer committee.

He made over 200m in sales.
That really shows how shit our owners are. Literally zero 'investment' into the squad in 4 years.
Its a miracle we are were we are really.

I got the figures wrong, he spent £300m, but yeah, I suppose only £100m during his time.

Still, £125m of the £200m he brought in was from two (important) players in his last two summer windows. He had money to spend before that. He just didn't spend it very well.
