Mo Salah- he's world class

I think someone else said it, yesterday was the first game where you forgot Suarez played for us.
Salah wasn't just hit and run but close control too. He had on occasions 4 players round him and still managed to dribble the ball past all 4 and find an incisive pass.
How he weaved between three or four players before his shoot down in the bottom corner that was saved was just majestic.

18 goals in 23 games for a wide forward is phenomenal.
It's Messi/Ronaldo levels of scoring. They do it year in year out so it's too early to start calling him as par with them, but Jesus we have done a great job getting him.
9 goals 2014
Then
15 goals 2015
Then
19 goals 2016
And this year already at 18
And 25 years old. Probably one of the best signings we have ever made.

It’s so rare to see a player score so many goals but then at the same time be an unselfish team player.
Complete opposite to C. Ronaldo for example.
If Salah goes on a run without goals, we still know we’ll get wonderful workrate, creative interplay with his fellow attackers and a never say die attitude till the end.
What a signing.

Who will Barca want more Coutinho or Mo? Or maybe Mane?

:p

Maybe terrorists will blow them up when they play Chelsea in Feb. Best of both worlds

He's scoring all sorts of goals, defenders already have the fear when he gets the ball, allowing him to exploit them further.

He's not as good as Suarez in terms of sheer brilliance, but he's proving as effective. Based on what I've seen this season he comfortably ticks the world-class box for me.
But, he is 3x a team player compared to Suarez, who would get frustrated and try to win games all by himself and it rarely worked (eg Chelsea game). Our strength that year was the combination of Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho and Gerrard taking penalties, but things got difficult Suarez played alone more often than not.

I guess we may need to wait until our form hits a bump, but I do not think Mo will go solo. I hope not. Our current strength is the group.

His runs all over and every angle do remind me of Suarez. Nightmare to defend.

I don't agree with that teamwork comparison. Suarez was forever talking, cajoling, geeing up others around him, and when he decided to go it alone it bloomin well did work a lot of the time - had it not done so, we'd never have got as close as we did to winning the title that season. Salah has started off tremendously well and long may it continue but, if I were picking a team to save my life, Suarez (in his prime at any rate) would be a long way ahead of Salah in the selection stakes.

I remember him crying after we went out to Zenit I think it was. Would be good if some of our weak hearted players could have his winner mentality.

Yup. And he'd be the one encouraging quick one-twos with some of our static players, he'd be the one making runs that created space.
He was a phenomenal team player that also happened to be a genius with the ball.

Liked for everything apart from final sentence. Would prefer Salah with me in the trenches. Even though that would probably mean I was fighting for Islamic State.

Suarez of 13/14 is the single most deadly forward of any single league season I've seen (live)

Salah is going in the right direction to match it but let's not forget how phenomenal Suarez was in just about every respect.

Shearer, Henry and Van Horseface are up there.

I would take Suarez 13/14 over Salah hands down. That season he was insane

I mean, all three had greater longevity than Suarez and Henry was just phenomenal for the best part of a decade but that Suarez season tops any other individual season in volume of goals combined with quality and just overall ability.

for me,anyway

Named African Player of the Year

Not a bad company (except the last LFC-based winner):

2016 Mahrez
2015 Aubameyang
2011-14 Yaya Toure
2010 Eto'o
2009 Drogba
2008 Adebayor
2007 Kanoute
2006 Drogba
2003-05 Eto'o
2001-02 El Hadji Diouf :)

UPD: Oh, I think the list above is from CAF award, not the BBC one. Hope Salah wins that one too.

He had 22 in 16 at one point in that 2014/15 season. He did play Norwich twice in that 16.

To be fair, spit got the award before he was a Liverpool player, so we can ignore that

He has conversion rate of around 30%. If salah can improve on this further, the goals will come and so will the big clubs.

If he scores in his next game he'll be our fastest player to 20 goals in 118 years.

To be a fly on the wall in the Mane household tonight.
Bet shits getting thrown everywhere
