When have you ever known a mourinho team to give you room to play?
De Gea worries more than any of their other players. Our attack could actually play quite well but he's good enough to stop them regardless. I've lost count of the number of games we've peppered their goal with shots that would usually go in only to see that bastard somehow turn it round the post , block it or tip it over the bar.

I attribute it to more our forwards being less than clinical than the opposing goalkeeper bing a worldie, else wise just about every keeper weve faced this season has had a good game.
The constant in this case, is Firmino and Salahs profligacy in front of goal. Your Suarez', Fowler, Torres' largely negated the possibility of a goalkeeper winning motm,cause they could score!
I've said for a few seasons now that keepers must love the chance of playing us. It's a win win, they concede a couple & it's Liverpool, so no shame in that, but there's a great chance they'll look fucking boss as we seem to excel at making keepers look good.

In a lot of their games they've led 1-0 until the last 10 or so minutes where they've got gluts of goals. Southampton showed that they can be frustrated very easily. Our problem is that we are capable of periods of complete meltdown, and this united team are very capable of scoring a number of goals very quickly.

Problem is we don't know how to frustrate teams. We just play one way and that's to throw everyone forward. We only got 2 draws last season when they couldn't score. Now they can, and when they're able to beat us, they generally do... [emoji53]
That's why I'm concerned because our forwards at the moment are happy enough to get the ball on target but that's not good enough against De Gea. It needs to be in the corner and yes most keepers look good against us as 90% of our shots are straight down the middle of the goal. A fucking bollard would keep out half of our shots.
I don't think you can say Southampton showed they can be frustrated easily at all. If anything they showed how hard it is and it takes serious defensive organsation and concentration to achieve it and even then you won't hold them out for 90 mins.
As Glen I think said above our best chance is to let them have the ball like the Arsenal game and look to hit them on the break quickly
It's interesting (or should I say nauseatingly predictable) to read this pre-match thread and then compare it to the one on RedCafe where opinion is most definitely split, with some comments along the lines of this one :

I meant they got frustrated easily e.g. 10-15 minutes of tight play from saints left them looking vulnerable. Rather than a more clinical team that would stay calm and know that chances will come. As i suggested with my prediction, I don't see us being able to do that but I think the observation is valid that if they are stifled for a period of time, they can go off the boil.

Look at who they've played. They haven't had a tough fixture yet, let alone a toughie away from home. Mourinho would be ecstatic with 0-0.

One thing I will point out is that they have a plethora of fans of other clubs on the forum, many from Germany & Spain, and personally I find it interesting to read their opinions on players from their own country/team as well as their opinions on English teams.
