Liverpool v Crystal Palace Match Thread

It doesn't feel like it right now, but that's the one game we could afford to lose, United won't win all their remaining fixtures, nor will Arsenal. A City win or draw on Thursday and things are back in our favour.

There is nothing about this match that wasn't 100% predictable coming in. Awful from manager and players alike.

And this is why we can't have nice things.

Poor performance, crumbling under pressure once again when we need a win.

If we fail to get champions league football, it's all on klopp. Failure to buy some players in January will cost us when it was painful obvious how reliant we are on mane.

Gini is a great 'link' player in a team that has a) a decent defence and other goal scoring midfielders and b) forward players who get in good positions. In these kinds of games we can't carry a link player with players who don't give a shite ahead of him and fellow CMs who don't pose a creative or goal threat.

Those who think we need to be modelling ourselves on Spurs can be pleased that we've emulated them by folding like a lawn chair when it counts.

Still feels utter shite though. Very poor performance, poor goals to concede and all the injuries were very visible today.

Dont think Utd or Arsenal will win all their remaining matches, so its still possible to get CL. But it was awful today. Pure awful.

Benteke - more goals as an opposition striker in 5 games than 20 games as a red at Anfield ... if only he knew how to score when he was with us the small time cunt.

Must say, credit to him for subdued celebration. Can't say the same about that loaned out cunt on the bench.

Well at least we've discovered, beyond certainty, that our best centre back pairing, ain't good enough.

Klopp can really improve players, and he signs some fucking quality players too ... but he quite clearly struggles with managing games (is he even able to do it with early game subs? or subs at half time etc?)... Is that what he was known for at Dortmund?

we probably would have won that game if we hadnt started Origi and played someone more defensive so Firmino could play upfront. very frustrating game.

Another player who only looks good when played with two other players in a system that suits him, and when the rest of the team are playing well.

A pointless and incorporeal presence when that isn't the case. And he was one of our better players

He knew he was going to score today - he always does at Anfield* but yes, he could have rubbed it in our faces quite easily and didn't even do his 'knee' celebration (whatever it is). Sakho can go fuck himself.

* when he plays for a team not named Liverpool.

It's easier when you got more than a bunch of kids.

The only realistic option was to put Moreno on and play Milner in midfield despite poor performances from Origi and Lovren.

Origi worries me. A striker without striker instinct.

Wasnt many options on the bench though. But yeah, we could definetly have tried something different.
The 1-2 goal just deflated us.
