Thing is if he comes here and I dare say he'll be a success, he can become a cult figure like Suarez,Torres, Garcia etc our fans will feckin love him and I'm sure jurgen has sent him a few cheeky texts. Not even July & I believe.

70 mill euros, isnt that the rumoured fee PSG were going to pay?

Please let this happen. Wont happen though, will it?

But why choose Paris over Liverpool he'll be pulling in good wages but in a far better league with us.
PSG pulled out. I have a feeling the story has come out because a) its his birthday and b) his agent is hoping to force someones hand.

I agree in principle though, he's 28 now and only really had 5 years at the top, he's should be acutely aware there are some systems he won't fit into. Like Man Utd or Juventus for example.

I'm still not convinced we could pull it off, but 29% seems reasonable.

I think the chances of us getting him are very small.

It would take a lot of other signings at big clubs to fall into place for us to have a real shot.

Oh my Picasso.. if this happens I'll show my ass in woollys window.
Closing down sale that will be then !

EDIT. Damn Wooly's has gone ? M&S closed down in Shanghai recently - wonder if all the high street chain shops are going to go the same way. On-line selling rules here.

Paris or Liverpool ..... hmmmm. Similar wages, native language and people (many French-Africans), good chance in the CL and a given that they'll win the French title next season.

EDIT> Think I've been whooshed here.

70 million is alot to pay for a 28 year old.
Besides we're still basically a project, are we really ready for that last push?

Really? Considering how much Ronaldo may go for €70m for a world class striker entering his prime and would 'fit' our system is a steal in my opinion.

Yeah i suppose that would make more sense.

Unless we're saying a striker who scored almost a goal a game for the last two years wasn't in his prime at that point in time ?

And he's going to improve on that obviously

he'll hit 1/game for the next few years ... the question is how influential is his speed in the goals - and will he still maintain a healthy gpg average when it starts to deteriorate

And when are you expecting his speed to deteriorate ?

Dunno - i would have rather you asked, 'how key is his speed to the goal scoring abilities?'
How many times do you think I've seen him play ?

I've looked at youtube and i'd say its a big part of what makes him succesful
