Cardiff City have agreed a deal in principle to re-sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on loan, according to reports.

Grujic is set to return to the Cardiff City Stadium for another season following a successful loan period last term.

The Bluebirds signed the Serbian midfielder in January and he went on to make 13 league appearances in a successful promotion bid.

Now in the Premier League, Cardiff City have agreed a deal in principle with Liverpool to re-sign Grujic on a season-long loan deal, according to Football Insider.

Neil Warnock is working with a limited budget this season and as he looks to transform his Championship team into one capable of competing in the Premier League, he will be partly relying on loan deals.

Grujic, who was part of the Serbian World Cup squad in Russua, served the Bluebirds well last season, adding a much-needed balance to the midfield in the absence of the injured Aron Gunnarsson.

And he is likely to succeed again in the Premier League, where he will have more space to embrace his more natural advanced role.

Good news. Best he's in the prem. Would like to see Origi do that too if we aren't selling him

Apparently he 'disappeared' in the run-in to the end of last season because he'd almost reached the number of appearances required to trigger extra payments. It's excellent that we're now insisting on loanees playing so many games, but I'm not sure about them being benched to avoid additional payments. You want them playing at the business end of the season.

I'd like to see Grujic go out on loan to a team that tries to play decent football. Cardiff make Pulis' Stoke look like Barcelona.

Wow. Yes, this is terrible if our young players aren't developing for this reason.

Well I argued for that last time but I must say Warnock surprised me how well he handled the player. Grujic, for all his potential, urgently needs to learn how to channel his aggression and, to put it bluntly, stay on the pitch. And Warnock did seem to help him with that. And if he more or less completes the job this time round, it'll have been worth it in spite of football that, as you say, is somewhat rustic.

Seems like it should be the opposite contracting approach e.g. you get money back after certain amounts of appearances to incentivise their playing!
