All I'm saying is despite what's best for the team, I don't believe we're going to win anything this season. Coutinho will still leave in the summer. Mind as well get the money now and start adjusting to life after Coutinho.

Agreed. Just think he will throw a strop early to rattle the cage. If he came out with the statements about Barca earlier in the summer, I reckon we would have caved into his demands. The statements came so late that we had no time for an adequate replacement and the market was growing crazy. You only hope the lessons have been learnt, just in case....

What's with the attitude of "sell him now coz we'll win fuck all anyway"? There's everything to play for (bar the league cup). We're in the CL and FA Cup, we're doing fairly well in the league and need to get back in the CL. Selling him now does what to the team? I'd imagine it'd have a negative knock-on effect on confidence and desire to play for the club, which is worrying going into a Summer with him already sold. Who says Salah and Mane then won't think, "what am I doing here?". It seems like typically detached, seller club mentality to me, to be thinking that way. And it's dangerous to us.
It's like this idea that we kept him in the Summer and it was a bonus, we then already resign ourselves to the fact that he's gone next time around. That's the shit cycle that this club is stuck in and it's starting to infect the fans too. "Oh he stayed, he's given us a year so he deserves to be allowed to go now and win stuff".

How do you reconcile "Of course, the club comes first ...." with "let him go and win the league (La Liga) ? Which basically means fuck Liverpool (and our ambitions and need for squad depth) and let him have his glory ?
That's merely your belief. Not a fact. I'm sure many thought that on the way to Istanbul too.
I find it hard to fathom if a Liverpool supporter at this stage would write us off in any of the cup competitions as we have so magnificently proved that on our day, with this current lot, we could tear any opponent apart. Even City would struggle no end if our fab four showed up.

I'm enjoying watching us this season. Yes - there are games with huge inevitability about them but I will always try and tune in because there is every chance we will play glorious football and play the opposition off the park.
