I think he is referring to the widespread media thumping they got after losing their rag at Chelsea, capitulating in a most embarrassing fashion at Newcastle and actually finishing third after spending so long chasing Leicester for the title, then stumbling so badly that they let Arsenal in to finish above them.
And also the obvious fact that last year everyone wanted Leicester to win the title, not them.

As for "unique in the world", it fits in with the Spurs fan mindset, they love to think they're some sort of unique club with a distinct identity, I remember during the Redknapp days how all their fans used to tell me how they were the "fastest team in the world" and "faster than Barca", delusions of grandeur all of the cunts.
