Erm... He scored last night looked half decent.. There is potential in this lad, I just think he has been badly managed from the get go.. I actually think he would be a better option to have on the bench the Solankee

I think a lot of the blame falls on Rodgers on how he was managed initially .. The kids head dropped after being singled out and its been all down hill since..

Can we make a player out of this lad yet? Or is it really just too late..

There is definitely ability in there.. I just don't think the kid has been given any sort of chance to realise it.. Whether it's bad Management uninspiring loan moves to aid his development..

Stranger things have Happened.. Look at Moses for Chelsea as an example..

I agree with most of that but I can't help feeling things have gone too sour for him at LFC to turn around now.

Potential???? If he had that he would have done something now or had been snapped up on a permanent deal by some other club now.

He's bang average.

Hes 47 years old Ninja!!!

I mean... It'd be NICE if he turned out not shit.

But it won't happen

From the highs of a world record keeper signing to the lows of "maybe Markovic can be like a new player" in a few short hours.

People just cant give up on that name. He should be amazing.

Between this, Sturridge being born again, the fact we suddenly dont need a back up striker etc its standard summer LFC fan shit
Not that standard, we were still supposed to convince ourselvees that Danny Ward is going to be amazing in goal

He's 24. I remember I was an ignorant arsehole who didn't apply myself properly until years after that.

Not saying he'll do anything this season, but if he does get his head together, and Klopp can be bothered with him, there's no better club/manager than us to turn it around.

Won't happen though.

As soon as the other players are back from holiday he won't even be in the squad.

I thought he was rubbish for most of his performance last night. Like trying to take on a defender and forgetting to take the ball with him.

His goal doesn’t change how rubbish he is.

Sell him, asap. He did seem to have a lot of talent and some high hopes for him, but he like Origi seem either not to interested or has a mentality/confidence issue.

Move on. Sell.

Origi
Ings
Karius
Mignolet
Sturridge
Markovic
Grujic
Are all imho very very surplus to requirements.
They wont play a meaningful game amongst them and probably will cost us 30/40m in wages this year.
I would genuinely sell all of them.
I think you would recoup maybe 60/70m for the whole lot (including the 12m for Ward) add the 30m wages thats a big old chunk of change.

Keep Grujic - young and has the tools. Give him a chance.

As for Markovic - too many chances, and despite the goal yesterday, he doesn't seem 'right' ... doesn't seem like he belongs. I'd get rid for any fee over 5 mill.

So our backup strikers are Brewster and Solanke?
Nah, man. Keep Sturridge until we have someone better.

Oh this is my dream scenario right here Modo. In MY scenario we spend that money on a backup CF and a quality young CB.

I agree, would be absolutely perfect. Add Fekir to that as well, but you know real life ain't FIFA and fucking Moreno is still a Liverpool player for some weird reason.

He's fucking shit

Yeah, I'm sick of all this general pre-season giddiness about players like Markovic, based on a goal in a friendly.

"Ooooh, could Klopp work his magic?!"

Take a deep breath, slowly exhale, and look at him again:

"Oh yeah, he's fucking shit"

Exactly. That's all he is. Walk away.

I still recall fondly a short stay I had on the Reddit LFC subforum and official LFC Forums which are - possibly - even worse than RAWK.

One spastic on there was a huge Markovic fan, and claimed that one shot he did once, a volley that hit the bar, was a piece of technique that only one other player on Earth could even have contemplated: Lionel Messi.

Yeah when I was 24 I was sat in a flat doing bucket bongs all day making shit techno with exactly the same haircut as Markovic. Snapped out of it a year later. It's on

I'm not a fan of his. But . . . . as a wide forward in a 4-3-3, aside from Mane and Salah, we just have Shaqiri.

Surely Markovic offers more in those positions than Solanke? Surely.

I do think there might be a player there. And look how Aspas and that other spanish midfielder now playing in Italy who's name I've forgotten, have turned it around under the right circumstances.

If hed failed here and succeed somewhere else you might have a point, but we are talking about a player who wasnt considered worth signing by Fenerbache, Hull or Sporting Lisbon. A player whose attitude is so poor that he turned up on loan to Anderlecht so unfit he wasnt even considered for selection for 2 months.

Hes a lemon, get rid. Honestly I think if Andy Caroll was still here we would have a thread every 6 months about how hes unplayable on his day and deserves another chance.

I agree apart from Sturridge (if we buy no one else) and Grujic (could be a beast)

Grujic is getting one last chance on loan and,of the rest, the only one I'd consider keeping is Ings if his pre-season form suggests he can be a utility forward from the bench

The fact none of the teams that loaned him want him says it all.

Get rid.

When we cut loose the deadwood we are actually very short on squad depth
