There's continuing worrying rumours about him.

Yes. Yes, there is.

Fucking hell, while I was always certain we'd spend a lot this summer, I'm not sure I'd be so chuffed if £80m of it went on Salah and The Ox.

But it would be so typically Liverpool.

I'd buy Goretzka.
Sell Henderson and make a huge profit. Buy Mmbop...guy.

What's your obsession with selling Hendo? Is it his injuries?
He hasn't lived up to our expectations imo. I mean look at Coutinho, Mané and even Lallana and Can.
Can won us a few games last season and shows that he has a higher ceiling than Hendo.
I really think we can find a better more impactful player and Goretzka is my pick.
He's reaching Sturridge level of unreliability with regards to his injuries.
Cut him loose I say but it will probably not happen.
Think about it, in recent years we've had Hamann, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard etc in midfield is he even close to being on their level? We've given him five years or so. Alonso needed 1, Mascherano needed 1, Hamann needed 1 to make an impact. Yeah I'm comparing him with great midfielders, I've even omitted Gerrard to be somewhat fair because he's an academy product.
Let's compare him to his England teammates present and former. Is he better than Alli? Peak Barry? Lampard? Carrick? Hargreaves? Parker?
Basically I'm done waiting for him to be the star.

Nobody ever thought Henderson would be a 'star', and waiting for him to be as good as Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano or Hamann is a waste of time also, because again, nobody expected him to ever get to that sort of level

Apart from you, it would seem.

Which is odd, because your ongoing and lengthy praise of a much inferior player in Lucas would suggest your bar is set remarkably low

Are you kidding me? When we bought him he was lauded as one of the brightest young stars in England. Hence why we also paid a hefty sum for him back then.
What were you expecting? An average role player?
The only reason Lucas has been important is because he's a our only competent DM. I wouldn't think twice about replacing him.

Even though it is impossibly ridiculous and FSG are not a bunch of oligarchs with a play toy... Mbappe would be a dream signing.

Among the other funny links suggested here, Suarez is still Suarez... I would fucking love it if we tempted Barca with what would need to be crazy money. That lad is a winner, in honesty I'd rather we spent 60M on Suarez than on a defender like VDV.

Suarez would cost way more than 60m.

He was never going to be a star. I think most observers would surely agree with that. And not even with the benefit of hindsight.

There are lot of players in the current squad I'd sell before Henderson. But, it's all about opinions, ain't it?

Of course it's about opinions and my opinion is that our midfield needs a revamp. Something needs to be done defensively and offensively. I wouldn't mind a DM as well.

Offensively (I think) we are fine with Lallana and Coutinho next season. Defensively I agree as I don't think Henderson or Can are the solution. One qu;aity player there and a natural evolution of the midfield, rather than a stark revolution of it, for me.

Aubameyang If mbabee is not available
Please stop going on about an 18 year old who has had one good season, particularly when his club wants £120m plus. Let's say he is a sensation, how many clubs in the world would pay £150m plus for him, if we needed to sell him? Lemar is only 21 will be available less than half the price but in terms of performance I would say he is not far off. Lacazette outscored Mbappe last season and will have quicker impact. Dembele of Dortmund is available for £70m and has bags of potential in a tougher league.

No.
He's a young player, with huge potential.
You said that we had bid for him.
Don't understand why you haven't put him on the list.

Yeah, Mbappe. He looks the next Henry. It won't happen, obviously. Second on the list would be either Suarez or Sanchez.

Forward Marquee signing in this preferred order for me.

Suarez
Auba
Aguero (if city get Auba he will be available)
Mbappe
Lacazette

What's ridiculous is that we have 100 Mil to spend on a single player. When have we ever heard of such of thing in the history of this club ?

The lizard owners are definitely up to something no good.

We don't need anymore attackers, we've added 2 to a strong forward line anyway, with Ings also coming back so make that 3.

Defence was our problem last season and still is, we need to get that sorted asap and before we do anything else.

It isn't.

We've had net profits from the last two windows we've traded in, & Klopp chose not to buy in January.

Meanwhile even mid table clubs have been spending around 30m each window, we have more money than mid table clubs, we now have huge profits from off the field money we didn't have a fee years ago, & also, clubs are spending way more this window due to the ongoing increases in tv rights money.

It's not unreasonable to think we have big big money to spend at all. Now as I've already said, I doubt FSG would spend that on just anyone, as they will want to see it as an investment, not just a player.

So, no, we won't go all out for Suarez at 100m, but a player aged 18 who is almost guaranteed to be worth more each year we have him is feasible at 100m imo.

He reminds of a young ronaldo (the Brazilian one) when he moved from psv to Barca in the 90's

Sorry mate, but I got reminded of this when we were linked with Dembele before he went to Dortmund. :p

Ousmane Dembele also 'only' had one good season in France before moving to Dortmund whereas AC Milan 'reject' Aubameyang had 2 good seasons out of 4 while on loan in Ligue 1 (linked with us in Aug 2012 - a yr before going to Dortmund and most of us were obviously uninterested).
