    The most heartening aspect of our win against Napoli was how Klopp was not averse to reverting to the rare use of last season's gegenpressing to completely overwhelm Napoli, this may have come as a tactical surprise to Ancelotti.

    We now have a multiple choice of tactical approaches that we can use depending on the situation and opposition.

    The new-ish Steven Gerrard film, anyone seen it? It’s on Amazon Prime. Watched it tonight and it was alright, not quite sure though. Relived the “slip” and fuck me it brought back some scars.

    “Joel Matip is set to undergo surgery after suffering a fractured collarbone during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Napoli on Tuesday night.

    The defender landed awkwardly following an aerial challenge in the closing seconds of the game, in which the Reds secured a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

    Matip was taken to hospital following the fixture and further assessment deemed an operation is required.

    Early indications suggest the centre-back is facing a spell of of up to six weeks out of action, though that is dependent on how Matip responds to his treatment and rehabilitation...
