Ange Gone?

SKY reporting dismissal imminent.

Dutch Courage

Under Evans we had a spine of English quality.

He’s had a French contingent.

Under Rafa it was Spainish.

Klopp didn’t really pillage Germany but Slot certainly has stamped the Dutch team all over his rebuild.

We now have VVD, Gakpo, Gravy and Frimpong and we might yet get more Dutch players arriving.

There was a worry that a Dutch coach might rub players, media and fans up the wrong way with the famous Dutch directness when things weren’t going so well.

Slot was for the most part perfect in front of the media last year and seems to have won all the players over (still didn’t like what he did to Quansah on game week 1 but hey ho)

So my question is how risky is to build our team around a nation that have more of a history of fighting publicly when the chips are down than winning?

On the flip side, I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear some of the banter in dressing room if this anything to go by.

Leftism

So, it looks like Diaz is off. First he posts something that could look like a farewell message, and now his wife has done the same. Add in this from tonight and it looks like we are going to need a new left winger.

Saudi clubs has him on the top of their list and Barca are interested. Hopefully a fee north of 70 mill.

Will be interesting to see who we go for as our new left wizard.
Would love Nico Williams.

Ace up the Caoimh

Feel like he deserves his own thread, since a fee of 18 mil has been accepted for Kelleher.

I remember the days of shit keepers, pretty much before Allison, and maybe 4 seasons of Pepe? And then somehow with Ali, one of the best in the world, and Kelleher, surely good enough to start for almost any other side. Have we ever had such a good one-two, back in the days?

More than anything else I grateful that Ali and Kelleher have made me forget about Karius and Kyiv. Hope he takes several points off all our rivals next season and inexplicably lets in a last minute winner against us.

Becker

So there was a lot of talk while he was injured and Kelleher was playing well that many would be happy to see him leave at the end of the season and have our new signing come in and compete with Kelleher.

With Kelleher set to leave I’m assuming everyone wants Allison to stay on as no1?

Personally I think he can be our no1 for the best part of the next decade.

Champions League Final

Is there no final thread?

Dodgy at the back.

The traitor!

Best and worst seasons, by transfer activity?

A comment in another thread got me thinking - where would you rank each season by transfer dealings? Arbitrarily chosen since 2000/01 as it's a nice round number. Purchases only:

Jota - worse than Nunez?

Nunez has 14 GAs and Jota has 13 - The big issue is the injuries, it looks like they're getting to him judging this years performance. Nunez id frustrating and squanders so many chances but he is available and his output on a per minute basis isn't that different from Jota's. Slot has decided Nunez isn't a player that fits his system. If we are to compete again we need a fit and firing Jota, can anyone guarantee he will be worth his place next season?
