Y'know like "hilarious", but Karius, eh eh eh?

Anyway, apparently this whopper has made another howler, though I haven't seen it.

Dreadful keeper. He should just retire, move to LA, bang Mia Khalifa, and become an Instagram model, because he's not going to get anywhere meaningful in football after these past two years.

Shame he couldn't Karius forward.

But no. Getting a game for us again should be Loris of his worries, he's gonna get shanked Turkish style

Fuck me.

He seems utterly incapable of preventing himself from occasionally chucking the ball into his own net.

Maybe it's a very rare undiagnosed form of tourettes.

It's a high cross that's taken a sudden and nightmarish looping deflection towards the goal. That's hardly some weirdly inexplicable feck up. And why do some fans even care any more? Does he owe you money? Did he turn you down on a date? He's gone, we have a new keeper, get over it and move on

Come on, it's a dreadful mistake. You don't have to be superfan about everything. You can say we played shite and didn't deserve to win, and you can say someone who's still on our books is dreadful.

In fact, I assume that's why many of us still care, because we're going to have another Markovic situation on our hands - the lad's a scoper.

I was expecting worse. You want him to stop that but it was a freakish cross.

He’s got a real uphill struggle ahead of him.

I recall a certain Pepe Reina being beaten by a certain Paul Konchesky in a similar manner in Cardiff in 2006.

Our best keeper in recent memory being beaten by our worst ever left back. Maybe that's why we signed him

He's made worse mistakes for sure. That had a touch of the David Seamans about it..nothing more.

By the same token, you don't have to a dreary bore who basks in any bit of associated negativity.

It's a bit rich you calling someone out for being positive when you're so ultra fucking negative.

Meow.

Good point, all non Liverpool related football discussion should be banned immediately. We shouldn't even discuss who our opponents are the weekend are, and we should redact their name from the thread title. Fucking talking about other players at other teams, bastards, no need.

Maybe there's something wrong with me (don't all rush at once) but I can't bring myself to enjoy the spectacle of someone's career collapsing in front of everybody like this, even if my team suffered for his mistakes. I couldn't even enjoy the way Torres went to sh!te at Chavski. "Let the dead past bury its dead" [Longfellow].

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying, what an astute reader you are.

Don't understand the Karius bashing.

Poor lad fucked up in the biggest game of last season - but that's football. We all make mistakes.

No player tries to make mistakes, no player wants to be injury prone etc.

Shit happens, that's life - no reason to kick a man while he's down you know.

We all fuck up in life - no need to be a dick about it to make yourself feel better.

My friends son is a Chelsea supporter. The wee lad is only 8 years old. He is very much into all results etc With a nerdy attitude. He has been very into the Karius situation and what would happen to him after the mistakes he did. From that very moment he has really paid attention to how the guy would react, what would happen to him now and he feels so much for the keeper going through all kind of shit. I was taken a bit by this.

I'm not interested in Karius, he can be a useless cunt somewhere else forever, I don't care.

But Torres is entirely different, and seeing him fail to score many goals and generally be miserable at Chelsea was a never-ending gift. Once he left there, I wasn't interested though.

I think people are being overly harsh..

Reina conceded similar in the FA Cup final in 2006, a freakish cross which caught him flat footed. Can happen to the best of them I guess
