So, we have a serious run of games where we can expect to see the lads who have barely featured yet start to show us why we have a deeper squad. Shaq, Studge, Fabinho, Clyne, Matip, Moreno, Origi. Who do you fancy to challenge the orthodoxy in the coming weeks?

Shaq! Mainly Shaq.

Shaq and Fabinho and Matip.

As for the others, nope, I'd be surprised. I just have this horrible feeling about Clyne that he'll soon disappear in shame after some or other tawdry revelation - drugs, dalliances, Novichok, who knows, but there's something odd about that guy.

I want to see us use our full squad across these games - every player needs to stand up and be counted. Obviously Shaq, and Fab will get their chance now, but I think the real test of the depth will be how well they perform in that league cup competition against Chelsea and whoever next (if we get past Chelsea). If we can afford to play a mix of our first team and those usually on the bench - for the cup competitions and win then we can say we have a strong squad with the depth we have been boasting about this season.

Does this mean Shaq's the new Yesil?

More seriously, he's got the talent to challenge for a first team place in his own right - which is the kind of squad player we need around the place. And I say that as someone who didn't really want him to start with, for a variety of reasons, but ability was never one of them.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sturridge.

Firstly in the league Cup against Chelsea. If he plays well then he may come in to give one of the front three a rest in one of the following matches.

Fabinho. Was impressed by him in pre-season. Expect to see him before too long.
And more last 15 mins for Shaq please. He needs minutes.

I really hope Klopp is prepared to make some tactical and formation changes to get the best out of the likes of Studge.

I'm still not convinced by Sturridge.
I'm yet to see something from him that will make me believe he's not the Sturridge of the last 3-4 seasons anymore.

I dint think anyone is convinced by him, least of all Klopp, or we'd have seen him brought on for at least a few minutes at the end of a game.

However, he showed enough promise of a new leaner & fitter version of himself in pre season to warrant a chance against Chelsea in our least important game in this trying & hectic run of important games, imo, not least because it means a change in system & therefore a rest for our least two of our usual front three in the process.

I'm not in disagreement with this. Just not holding any high hopes...
