Stopping Man City

I dont think they will reach 100 points again this season but beating them to the title will require more than 90 points. Im not sure there is any other team in the league capable of that.

"Thank you for posting the article, Frogfish" etc.

Thanks for your substantial input again Patrick.

The article is on the BBC homepage. I read it hours before and thought it was shite.

As for my input? Well unless I hope on they we will win the title or stick to Liverpool only, I get blasted so not much point posting more is there?

The article tells us nothing anyone who followed last season didn't already know. I would have expected a much deeper dive into the tactical side. It was basically says unless you are Liverpool and Klopp or get very lucky you won't beat them. Amazing stuff.

That's about as ridiculous an excuse as anyone could come up with.

I doubt that one single person here could spout even half of the statistics and breakdown of how City conceded goals and the source of their goals, bar the obvious, so yes it does indeed give information most people would not be aware of.

And as for it just being a cursory inspection of tactics to score/defeat City, well it's about as in-depth as most people would want to go.YMMV. What did you expect from a website when 18 PL managers found it tough to defeat them.

Personally I found the breakdown of how they concede their goals interesting.

Yes, but compare it to the argument "we have a 25 point gap to make up on City" and you can see how, in comparison, this article is "all numbers & no substance"

True enough. And it's still missing the key statistic of a 25 points start.

Haha. Yes, Dreamy also likes to remind people we’re worse than Spurs last season, despite the fact we were treading water in the league for the last 8 fixtures as we prioritised the CL and they beat us by 2 points.

And the fact that we've improved our squad and they haven't added to it.

You know what my dear 6CMers ? Fuck this thread and its title...it would be better placed on websites of the other 18 PL teams. We already know and Man United already know the answer to the question.

I jumped because I don't know why there's a spurs discussion in man city thread

Ross is slacking

Anyway. Word is there is a thread on Man Citys forums called ‘Stopping Liverpool’

They really are silly if they have...there are 17 games from last season they can study to get the answers.

Did you just go and check that you dull bellend

Bitch - I had to check if it was 15 or 17 - that we fucked up on (that was hard work enough). Other than that my response is no different than my earlier response to this thread - we already know how to deal with Man City. What LFC needs are threads on how to stop teams like west brom, and burnley and some other non life piece of shit that manage to draw with us or shock us by beating us.

Two extra extra time winners which if the ref could actually read his watch and wasn’t a cunt shouldn’t have happened = 4pts and boost to confidence

Red card by Mane at Etihad = 6pts on us...

5 occasions I can think off where we were fucking patently robbed by the ref being a cunt including the very first game away Watford ( a result which in combination with a bunch of whinging cunts unhappy we didnt buy a cheaper CB when VVD transfer fucked up in summer really put negative vibes onto the team)

United away how in the world of fuck is that not a penalty,
Spurs at Anfield, obvious diving cunts linesman celebrated fucking us over,
Everton at Anfield as soft a pen as you will ever see,
West Brom at home shudda had a pen in the 80th on Solanke,
Stoke at home shudda been a pen...
West Brom away..wasn’t a free kick was it...

I reckon we were robbed by at least 10 points by reffing wereas City were boosted at good times to be boosted

That’s twenty points bridged already... it’s in the bag...

City are going to find more and more teams attacking them this season - as was starting to be shown at the end of last season. From the start of the season to Christmas time, they came up against team after team who rolled over yet they still had to rely on a large number of late winners. I think they're defence will be given much more of a test this season which means they'll win some games with greater ease but also take a couple of surprise defeats.

Really interested to see Aguero & Jesus this season - both were a bit muted last season but Sterling and Sane were shit hot.
