Been a bit of chat in a few threads about this but thought it’d be worth starting a new thread about it. I mean, this is what the transfer window is all about, right?
There’s been talk that it would be a ‘massive signing’ and he is ‘top, top player’. So, who is the mystery man?
I’ll get us started. Bookies have slashed our odds and made us favourite to sign Griezmann...
 
It would be a massive boost to this club if we sign a player of Griezmann's quality on so many levels
1) an excellent attacking player (don't think he's world class but he's fucking good)
2) a player the Mancs have long wanted
3) another player who can (will) score 20+ goals a season
4) serious sign of intent for the fans and players

The reason I cannot see it happening though are reported wages requested (400k/week), cost (100+ million minimum) & CL (cup tied).
 
Somehow I hope we don't sign a galactico or someone elses darling.... I know we just did with VVD but that's different as they are nowhere near out level anyway. I like the idea that out stars are ours mainly and I guess I am not Griezmans biggest fan anyway. Annoying french guy with an equal annoying celebration trademark.
 
We're not actually going to sign a Greizmann. I'll be happy if we pull another Salah type signing out of the hat.
 
Teamtalk have us chasing after Suso, with a photo of Suso and Borini celebrating. It seems Borini is playing in their first team now? Shit league. Nothing good ever come out of Serie A, at least not to us.

We should avoid them players like the plague.
 
I hope not. Dont rate him and we dont need him. I dont think we can use Coutinho or Salah as best examples of Serie A success stories. They came from different leagues originally and in ones case Serie A was not right place for him to develop and as for Salah...he had pace to his game which would always give him an edge in our league. Serie A ... not the fastest league in the world.

Thats actually not a bad shout. Hes not kicked on at Barca and with Coutinhos arrival plus Dembele coming back from injury hes likely to get very little playing time for the rest of the season. Sadly hes 31 in a couple of weeks and he appears to be on decline.

It was a really weird move for all concerned - bar A.Madrid perhaps in hindsight.

He was linked with a random Turkish club the other day.
