We are on a great unbeaten run and play a city team who are unbeaten domestically. City played last night with a strong line up needing a last minute goal to beat Bristol city.

For us Salah is winning the race to be fit and hopefully starts. So I’d expect Manè and Firmino to complete our forward line.

Mignolet will start and I’m guessing Gomez, VVD, Matip and Robertson will be the back 4.

Midfield I haven’t a clue but it’s possible it will be the same as against the blue shite.

Let’s fucking twat these.

I would like to see:

----------------Karius-----------------
Gomez---Matip--VVD---Robbo
----------------Can-------------------
--------Lallana----Gini--------------
Salah-----Firmino-----Mane-----

Bristol were superb against them last night playing progressive, passing football. If they had a little more quality, they created more than enough chances to score a couple more than they did. Stones and Mangala were making mistakes for fun last night, so if we put them under pressure, and I'm sure we will, there may be some benefit to be had. It is hard to be massively confident against a team with as much strength as the City side, and yet, I think if there is any team that has a chance of going toe-to-toe with City and slugging out a victory, it's us.

I would play Gini at the base and have Chamberlain beside Lallana. They're not a big side and we shouldn't miss Can's height. Can has looked lackadaisical and perhaps a bit tired in the past few games. I'd start him on the bench.

I really really want to win this one.

Sick of the City fanfare this year.

I actually think missing coutinho may help us out here. Overload midfield with Gini, Can and Lallana with Firmino coming deeper and Salah and Mane on the constant overlap need to overrun kdb and bully silva

This game has goals in it, theyre backline is just as vulnerable as ours imo its just whether we can shut down KDB and Silva. In my head we have to score atleast one to cancel out the inevitable Aguero goal.

In my head we have to score at least 3 but having seen last nights game I have more hope that we can. They aren't faltering exactly but it could be a good time to play them.Fingers crossed Salah is fit.We need these three points.

I’d be surprised if Silva plays. His newborn is seriously ill. He has been flying back from Spain and played against Burnley but wasn’t in last nights squad.

I've been saying all season we'll beat them at Anfield, I'm still confident we will, but the difference of quality between our midfield and theirs does make me nervous.

I'd go with a Lovren and VVD at the back. Both are more mobile than Matip to cope with Aguero's movement.

They don't have Jesus to come off the bench if it's not working for them. I don't think they're as strong as people make out. If we can force KDB into mistakes and put him under pressure, I think we shut down a lot of their attacks. He's the key to winning/losing. If he has a good game and Gini/Ox/Lallana have an average one, we'll draw or lose.

Bristol showed they're hardly unbeatable though. They're just very high on confidence. But then again, so are we. And we're at Anfield.

I expect us to win a tight game. 2-1.

My only issue is that Lovren is fucking muck.

I also wonder if he's ready to be VVD's bitch yet? We don't want him trying to prove himself with rash attempts at interceptions to prove his worth. He's the type to make precisely these kinds of blunders in an attempt to prove he's top dog.

Can't wait to see VVD smash in another goal from a corner. He's going to ruin Otamendi/Mangala

Mangala had me questioning how he ever became a footballer last night, he was rank. Stones was dodgy due to just returning from injury and having to cover what the other idiot was doing. If that is the CD partnership on Sunday, then it must be happy days for us. Was also good to see Sterling and De Bruyne have to pull their tripe out for the whole 90 mins.

Alas, that won't be the CB partnership. I was really hoping for some clogger to kick De Bruyne and Sterling into the air leaving them crumpled and broken, but unfortunately Bristol were a footballing team.

Surely it will be VVD and Klavan. Klavan has been our best CB for mths now.

When your manager pursues a player for almost a year, makes him the most expensive defender in the world, then slings him straight into a Merseyside derby where he's man of the match and scores the winner, the question about who is "top dog" is probably moot.

All the more reason for Lovren to attempt to wrestle for that crown. Matip is a quiescent presence in the squad, and everyone always knew Klavan was there as cover. Lovren will be strutting around the place with heckles up and balls pulled up tighter than a drum.

Interesting in that tunnel cam how uncomfortable Lovren looks in VVD's presence.

It'll be Otamendi + 1 (probably Stones) for City, no way it's the same partnership. Likewise for us, Van Dijk + 1 (hopefully Klavan).

The game will be won in midfield. If we could control their midfield we would win the game. For that I'll be going for Gini, Can and Lallana, full of running and all action.

Ming
Gomez Klavan VVD Robbo
Can Gini
Lallana
Mane Firmino Salah

It has to be Matip - VVD for me. They looked solid against Everton and should continue as a partnership.
I'd be okay with Klavan as well, and he probably deserves it.
But I think the Matip - VVD partnership has potential. VVD could be the type to lead Matip into becoming an even better player for us.

Liquescent, more like

It will definitely be matip and vvd as the first choice pairing. But with matip's injury record that first choice pairing won't be very regular.

Lallana is nowhere near up to speed yet. I can see Klopp giving Ox the nod over lallana.

Not to mention Matip's, how shall we say, inconsistent form?

I'd expect us to sign another CB in the summer to play alongside Van Dijk.

Nah not having that, this game was made for Coutinho but now he's gone we have to make do.

Hopefully we catch them on a sluggish day and twat them 4-0
