Thinks he owns the place

Been sent home from international duty after Senegal released a statement saying he struggled with a previous injury.
Most likely the hamstring again.

Fingers crossed its not that bad..

Starting him in a game the minute he returned to training, and then sending him out to play internationals. Perhaps this time we can give the misery ankle treatment a shot too.

Can't really blame Senegal for starting their best player in a game they felt they needed to win. They know they don't have to deal with the consequences. Glad he has been sent home early and hope it isn't serious - with Chelsea on the horizon, I think we can really stick one on them with the front four all present.

What was the alternative? 'Mane refusing to play in dead rubber match'?

I'm gonna be a glass half full guy here, & slightly conspiracy-minded, & suggest that this is simply him (perhaps at the clubs behest), ensuring he doesnt have to play any part in a game that is basically now a glorified friendly & risk himself in the process.

Ideally he'd have just sat it out resting at home. Failing that, I'd rather he just stayed out there. The last thing I'd opt for is to call him back, and then have him 'assessed'. Even if he's fine, and we all know he is fine, he's going to have to see our medical team to be 'assessed'. That process is a coin flip as to whether he walks out or is stretchered out in an ambulance due to a misdiagnosis or even a slip of the medical examiners clumsy hand.

You're on the wrong site mate. He's out for the season.

Mané is such a potent force, that it is a temptation for managers to play him when he is not fully fit. A similar thing happened to Michael Owen early in his career, when he lost a yard of pace he never got back.

The fact that he wasn't subbed (and Senegal made 2 late substitutions in the 86th and 93rd minute) would give me hope that his "injury" wasn't overly concerning to him.

In all fairness so no other attribute has the natural attrition or assisted-by-injury drop than pace in sport, Players like Owen and Mane will always have more to their game than pace merchants, Lets milk Mane for all hes got before Madrid/Barca scoop him up.

As an aside....I see Owen was thanking Benzema for choosing R.Madrid over Utd which gave Owen his move to Utd in a Canal+ show over the weekend..... *sick in mouth*

I think I've perhaps forgiven him. When you look at the club today and feel very little or nothing at all, the conclusion must follow that all of those amazing feelings from the 90's and 00's were down to players like Owen, when at the time you just thought of it as a normal by-product of football. But it wasn't, he did good things which positively affected my brain. That's sadly more than I can say for Mane or Salah.

Ah, you need to compartmentalize Dantes -96-2004 , he was boss. 2004-2017 - he was/is a cunt.

I don't know, if I met him today in 2017, as boring of a cunt that he is, I know I'd still be taking mental notes of his every word and listening to his memories of that time, and possibly smile. If I met Mane, there'd be silence, I'd probably start talking about the universe to him.
