Too early to start discussing one of our biggest games of the season?

Huge game already for the team and Klopp.

Loss and we are 10pts adrift and even more pressure will heaped on everyone.

Win and things don't look as bad on the surface.

Will be interesting to see how both managers approach this.

Hopefully Lovren has recovered by then and nobody picks up a knock on international duty.

With the squad as it is right now I'd go with

Ming
TAA
Matip
Lovren
Milner
Henderson
Can
Coutinho
Mane
Salah
Firmino

I'm dreading this one, thankfully form tends to go out the window for these games but all the signs point to a drubbing. There really aren't many positives in the way we are playing at the moment, they just look a much more well organised team than us in pretty much all areas and that's without Pogba and Ibrahimovic. Fuck that's depressing.

It isn’t just depressing, I suspect it is depressed.

We will batter them Manc cunts and then we will roll over them Lilly livered fucking southern poofs...

It is written in the fucking stars....

expecting a score draw or loss ... time to lower my expectations, and hopefully, it will stop the curse on this team.

Mourinho will play us the same way that Newcastle, Burnley etc did.

Defend deep in numbers and wait to take advantage of the inevitable mistake at the back. Except he's doing it with a much more dangerous attacking threat

I think we should try to convert a greater percentage of the inevitable chances we will get as a result of the combination of our usual good attacking play in combination with the mistakes Manchester United will make which will go unnoticed if we don't do the scoring thing.

I cant see us getting a result. This utd team play just how burnley et al do, theyre just far more effective at both ends.

Id klopp to shake things up, sit deep, smart press and play them at their own game, a bit like that man city performance last year (2-1) anything else is suicidal

Bore draw. This is Mourinho we're dealing with.

His reputation for being boring is well deserved but he also builds ruthlessly effective teams and it looks like he's in the process of doing that again at Utd. I'm pretty surprised at the number of goals they are scoring this year, whether it's just a run of easy games and confidence being sky high remains to be seen but they are averaging 3 goals a game so far. Havent watched any of their games cos Im not bothered so can't say how well they are playing though.

They've conceded two league goals. We've conceded a laughably shit twelve.

They don't make mistakes in defence like we do, and are far more efficient and clinical in attack.

We'll get fucking murdered.

And its all chelseas fault for selling them Matic

I wouldn't say it's all to do with him, but he's had a positive impact certainly.

Jones has also been in great form, plus they already have a brilliant goalkeeper and then there's the fact they actually have a striker, which would be nice wouldn't it?

Good DM, top keeper, decent finisher, reliable CBs.

How come we've never thought of that?

Nah matic e Lukaku have provided balance and goals. The difference between their sides now and 12 months ago is astonishing. Given its largely the same personnel

Its bullshit. We needed a matic and a lukaku and got a chamberpot.

Phil jones is shite, dont be fooled, hes due a mare, hes had a few lucky escapes so far this season. Ur best chance is just telling mane and salah to stand on his and baillys toes high up the pitch, theyve had pace merchants give them a few worries this season, albeit not enough but im confident salah could have them on toast , round de gea , be no more than 4 yards before smashing the ball into the g.......garston?

If they play really well I'll be delighted and relieved but also furious as it'll show yet again that they're playing at about 75% in other games.

  1. It's United, we'll up our game considerably for this. Anyone who doesn't needs binning off permanently.
  2. Klopp is tactically much better versus top teams with more open, attacking, games. United won't play the same style as last season so we'll get chances even though they will likely dominate possession.
  3. There won't be anywhere near as much space between our midfield and defence as in most of our matches.
  4. United haven't played any other Top 6 team yet. It's not easy to judge where they are at, although obviously improved from last season.
  5. We're due some real luck and the odds must be improving on us actually hitting the target.

Maybe 2-2 but I've been away for our recent bad spell and the last game I actually saw (exc, highlights) was Leicester in the LC, I'm now however back in Shanghai and that could be the spell breaker. A 2-1 win for us it is then.

Mourinho always plays negative counter attacking football against the top teams. That's his style of play. It will be the same like last season except he has better and bigger players to do it.

The funny/sad thing is I don't think anyone will be surprised with any result, we could blitz them but could easily get bummed or it could be a boring 0-0.

Hopefully they give more room to play in than others have this season
