... He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Dropped's little cyber stamp-footie last night then..?

That's what teenaged girls do when they're dumped, FFS.

Ballers and Balance

So with Wirtz, Ekitike in the starting line up (and i know the opposition wasnt great) and with more cover behind Wirtz we really seemed to click going forward. Ekitike thinking more on Flos level and the rest fitting in around.

The deeper Szob and jones gave a platform.

I think most of us think this worked well, but was 442 the best formation for this very basic underlying structure?

Could it be accomodated in a 433 then it would make room for Chiesa (cough) Cody and Isak?

Would you stick with 442 or is there an (even) better way of gelling these players?

Pre Match - Brentford (A) - Sat 20:00

This game will tell us a lot. The lineup will be an insight into Slot’s mettle.

So many positives to take into this.

Team for me is

Marmadash

Bradders
Konate
Virgil
Robbo

Szobo
Jones
Wirtz

Chiesa
Ekitike
Gakpo

Let Isak, Mo, Macca, Kerkez use the final 25 mins to earn a place back, and give them the EFL cup game.

Also side bet: Mo to have a penalty saved by Kelleher

MOTM Eintracht Frankfurt (A) 1 - 5 - Momo’s POTS awards

Pick your top 3.

Marmadashvili
Frimpong (Bradley)
Konate (Gomez)
Van Dijk
Robertson
Jones
Szoboszlai
Wirtz
Isak (Chiesa)
Ekitike (Salah)
Gakpo (Mac Allister)

UCL Frankfurt (A) 1-5 Weds 22nd Oct 20:00

In here.

Good showing against a defensively poor team. All the stats in our favour

Only downer being Frimpong getting another Hammy

Save Our Season

Things do seem to be fucked. The system is not working, and hasn’t done for most of 2025. The players bought don’t suit “The System”. Either our signings were complete and utter fuck ups, or they were bought with a mind for a future change in approach. I really hope it is the latter. If that is the case, it will be the post-Mo era of the club.

Unless we do change things to whatever the future plan is, then we risk it all. If we are to be a half way house this season it will have detrimental impacts on everyone we bought over the summer. A season being overly scrutinised, the additional pressure and also the atmosphere around the place.

The world and their dog can see we have no patterns of play, no discernible style and no structure. A chunk of that is because we have two forwards who do the same thing from opposite flanks, one of which has lost the battle to Father Time. Both like to get the ball, ignore the central focus and shoot.

I think we need to look at what is next season’s plan and start to embed it now. Whether that is a 4-4-2, fluid 4-4-1-1 or even a diamond then give it a go.

I would be tempted to go for the 4-4-1-1 option. We seem to have Kerkez underlapping, which Bradley does too. To me that means we could try Frimpong RW and be the chalk on his boots kind of player. Not sure on the left right now, but that’s how I’d use Ngumoha when he’s ready. Centrally have Szoboszlai and Gravenberch with Wirtz as the 10. Isak and Ekitike for the 9. Bradley and Frimpong could interchange, same for LW and CF and CMs brining Wirtz back with Szoboszlai going beyond him.

If we need to mix it up and change, we’d have options on the bench with Gakpo, Mac, Jones, Salah, etc.

Something needs to change and soon.

Pre Match - Eintracht Frankfurt (A) - Weds 20:00

Not even sure where to begin. We need to show some semblance of tactics and take control of a game. Will this be it?

Some players need a rest - Macca & Gravy after knocks on Sunday. Ibu possibly as he got that knock for France. Although this is arguably too many changes to find form from

Marmadash

Frimpong
Gomez
Virgil
Robbo

Szobo
Jones
Wirtz

Salah
Ekitike
Chiesa

Sweeping changes for me - let those who have shown some form get a chance to do it from the start. Leaving Mo is just because we know he will start.
