I saw some article this morning quoting Danny Murphy who apparently on talksport said we're at least five years away from a title. Possibly even ten.

I'm not sure upon what basis he made the comments or how he justified them but i think its bonkers.

For me this season was about whittling down the squad and finding the core of the team that could take us forward towards a title. It's fair to say its not going all that well at the moment and things are possibly more uncertain now than before the season started. But i still think saying we're five years away from a title is over egging...

Sooo, a new match tomorrow. If anyone still cares after Mondays horror show mind.
Late game on a Saturday, at home, Anfield bathing in floodlights and against a top 4 rival. This is usually a match we should turn up for, but who knows these days.

Lovren is back in training and is fit. Which means Lucas will be dropped, hopefully.
No sign of Studge or Hendo in the training pics from yesterday. Thats not good news.
We missed Hendo badly on Monday.

Still, hopefully 3 points and a better feeling then after the abysmal match on Monday.

Just took a heavy head clash and bad bad landing...needed 5 mins or so to be treated in which he didn't move.

You could tell from reaction of both sets of players it was serious.

Had to be stretchered out (being given oxygen mask) and taken straight to hospital.

Hope it's nothing more than a concussion but you can never tell.

Okay, this is some shameless plugging for a friend at the Echo, but he makes some good points. We are a soft touch. Without a doubt. We're a squad of largely diminutive fair weather players who can be electric when on song, but roll over and lie on their back at the first sign of adversity. How do we rate our chances at signing some of these players? And is there anyone else that fits the bill? Not once since the loss of Suarez, Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher, Mascherano et al. have I felt that we have replaced their (here's that phrase again...) grit and determination.

    To put it more...

So, I am going to need a bit of assistance here from some of you lot that follows the Championship more closely than I do, but this lad has caught my eye a few times now - not only because he's massive but because he's looked more than decent the around 4 times I've seen him (twice against Man City) - and very much like a type of midfielder we truly lack in the current squad.

At first glance he's build like a Pogba/Vieira type of player and his flair and nous both defensively and when going forward, combined with his 'reach' (fast, long legs, tall) and thunderous shot reminded me somehow...
